I remember this very well.

I wanted that Nintendo 64 and there was a world wide shortage on those things.

My mom and dad told me I might have to settle for a PlayStation, so I was like cool. I was a teenager at this time so I wasn’t tripping. I was just thankful for what I was getting.

I get up Christmas morning and we opening gifts and I open my last gift and have no PlayStation or N64.

I was like well I guess I didn’t get neither. A few minutes went by and my mom told me to check the laundry room. Sitting there in the laundry room was a brand new N64 in a very nice gift bag with an extra controller and several games I wanted.

She told me later the only reason her my dad were able to get it is I put my name on a waiting list at GameStop and they just so happened to call them and tell them they were holding one for me.
