I loved going to Toys R Us and shopping for my kids for Christmas. I hate that experience is gone now. They went out of business not because people weren't shopping at their stores.. but because of poor management at the corporate level!
You’re forgetting also being able to bump your music cd’s at the same time as playing games. With Wipeout (one of my favorite racing franchises) it was one of the first games you could load the game, take the disc out, and put in your music vid to play while playing the game. In 95 that shyt was mind blowing! I discovered it by accident because my sister took the game out as a joke while I was playing but it kept running. I popped in a vid just to see and that bytch stared bumpin while I racedI remember shuffling through newspapers every Sunday for these ads.
The N64 was a good system, but Nintendo really messed up by sticking with cartridges. CDs were the way to go. The PSX was a much better value. I could get multiple games at one time, with n64 I could only get a game once or twice per year.

We had 1 of 2 stores nationwide open but wife shot it down because it was the middle of the pandemic , I just want my children to never grow up and be toys r us kids like I wasI loved going to Toys R Us and shopping for my kids for Christmas. I hate that experience is gone now.

I was born in 85, so I know.the 90s were the perfect bridge between modern society and everything that came before the 90's, right in the sweet spot
alot of the shyt that gets referenced or make people feel nostalgic comes from the 90s because it was a boom period for everything - movies, tv shows, gaming, etc.
90's birthed alot of GOAT tier shyt
the 90s was teeming with creativity and fukkery,
the shyt just felt magical, not because I was a kid either. all the dopamine bursts you get from tik tok, and the internet in general... well we got that from being outside around actual people in the arcades, or out in the neighborhood....shyt even school was lit as fukk. human interaction was so much more chill and open, their wasnt all this tension, and going on witch hunts and shytty people actually got shamed and checked on the spot. Society wasnt the powder keg it is now. People, for the most part, were perfectly contempt going about their lives without much of a problem. The shyt was just...![]()
