You’re saying peak Jordan couldn’t stop NBA level offensive players in 1 v 1?
why do you guys think Michael Jordan was an unbeatable Super Saiyan?

There were absolutely guys that he was contemporaries of that did beat him in 1v1. They were faster or stronger or just had a hot hand that day.

Doesn’t mean they were better overall players than Jordan.

Never said MJ couldn’t lose in one-on-one.

No, I mean at an individual level. Players still iso and go get buckets. And that all looks the same

People talk like Kyrie ia an alien obviously he’s unique but there should be more unique players. Ie Rob Dillingham.

There are very few bc they all train the same exact moves. Jalen brunson looks like Tyrese Maxey looks like Devin Booker, etc. No ingenuity
It looks the same because they are more efficient lmao that’s what I mean. Players looked different because they didn’t really know how to play efficiently like that

U ever heard the story about Jordan and the high schooler named Chris Jackson(later Rauf) at a Nike camp? Scoop Jackson told this story for years. People that were there at the camp would get online and tell it. Then one day, Mahmoud finally told what happened. Bottom line, it’s hard for taller defenders to guard faster shorter guards. I watch 60-70 spurs games a year. As great of a defender as kawhi was, he simply could never guard Kemba Walker. .

Based on what? :wtf:

Tyree Maxey in 2025: 26.5, 6, 3.5 on 44/34 (9.6 attempts)

Prime Arenas in 2005: 29, 6, 3.5 on 44/37 (7 attempts)

Theee new nggas are not better, hell in some cases they’re not even more efficient. They just have a ton more in their favor and the benefit of knowledge ie not taking long 2s which we didn’t really pivot from until recently

I remember when I was a kid a coach saying basketball is real simple you can only do 3 things with the ball. Pass, shoot or dribble. so I guess in a sense I kind of agree if you’re taking away 1/3 of the game.
ive never really gave it any thought though it always just Depended on how many we had whether we played 5v5 or 4v4 or 1v1

I'm saying that most offensive minded NBA players today cannot be stopped with 1 on 1 coverage. I'm going to exclude Jordan from this discussion because he isnt playing in todays game where offensive players have a massive advantage over defenders. If any offensive minded player weather it be Ant, KD, Book, Bron, whoever, gets one on one coverage they are going to have a monster game. Period. Guys like Artest and Pippen and Rodman don't exist nowadays and they wouldn't be able to do what they did even if they did exist.

Understood but we’re talking about 1 on 1 by itself, not in the context of a game. 1 on 1 still has the same physicality.

Anyone who co-signs everything Bron says lets me know they have no idea about sports. One on one is the essence of sports from the opening whistle to the last whistle. WR vs DB is determined if the QB throws the ball or not, what type of defense a team plays, what type of running plays they call, or if they go for it on 4th down. I don’t know if you seen this, but basketball comes down to one on one many times when the offensive set breaks down.

JM essentially cosigning and saying 1v1 ain’t real BBall

no one in here better than JM

He’s not talking about one on one with that quote. You played yourself. Think Jamal Crawford of all players is shytting on one v one brehs

He’s talking about those kids training drills all day with a trainer and never play against anyone in a game environment. 5 v 5 at LA Fitness >>> doing a thousand drills and never playing against real ppl

I don’t think he’s saying that. I think he’s referring to the current culture of young players being overly focused on running drills with trainers and not playing as much pick up ball with each other.
