likely not random. They left that equipment along with something to attract the bears (and/or other animals). Not expecting a fight necessarily, but they were expecting to see something. You can even see another bear approaching while they’re scrapping. That’s probably why there’s so many flies there too.

.50 cal bullets is the only ammo I’ll trust to put down a grizzly with one shot…can probably get away with putting one down with a 10-12 gauge shotty to the face but I want to see the whole head explode with a .50 cal.
