I re-watched the series a few months back. I couldn't believe how funny some of it was. I don't remember thinking of it being funny during its initial run.

There's so much humor just in their casual dialogue:

Tony: He killed 16 Czechoslovakians...he was with the interior ministry.

Paulie: He killed 16 Czechoslovakians, he was an interior decorator.

Chris: His house looked like shyt.

:wow: I hate that I love this cac ass show. It's wild cuz the Sopranos is one of them things that stirs up nostalgic childhood shyt with me. I watched it with my pops from the the Pilot on and never stopped. That was our thing. Pizza and Sopranos on Sunday night. Later on the Wire. But I've seen it probably 5 times all the way thru since then because it was also really a good show. Like the intervention scene still makes me crack up. When Silvio does his part till the end I lose it.

They neck and neck breh. Both are 2 of the greatest shows off all time. It's actually wild that they was both in the same time slot, same channel, and they runs followed each other basically. Golden Age of TV if you ask me. Late 90s till about now. Wasn't really a fan as much but Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and I didn't like it but Mad Men too. Better Call Saul might be a beast also

Sopranos and The Wire are indeed the true GOAT shows. They are truly neck and neck because they are both important for multiple varying reasons. However, Sopranos helped pave the way for the high-quality television we enjoy today and I personally think it is a more realized work of "art" so I personally consider it to be slightly more important to me than the The Wire.
