I use to work for an organization that provided bedding/tables to people in my city that couldn't afford it(referrals).
One that stuck out to me the most was this one family that had kids back to back(at least 6). When we first went in they had nothing and were there for a good three months.
We brought in the beds and a kitchen table and these kids went absolutely crazy over the table. Saying they never had one before cant wait to eat at the table as a family etc
I went and got them even some more stuff outside of what we originally brought with my own money(table cloth, food etc)
One of the most humbling experience I have had in my life. I grew up extremely poor, but I had a bed and a kitchen table. Don't take anything you have for granted.
