I’m sorry but I feel like a lot of the shyt being said in this thread is :duck:

Maybe it’s because I’m still relatively young (28) and don’t have a family and serious commitments as far as relationships are concerned, but I’m definitely going to be playing that shyt when it drops, delayed or not. GTA is GTA and as a country we’ve given Rockstar a lot of fukkery to work with over the last decade. :lolbron:

I think theyre including other parts of Leonida. This is the latest map projection from the (highly accurate) GTA Mapping Project:

This is the map compared to the GTA V map:

I mean, if you told me this was a San Andreas scenario that incorporates the American southeast that would be very intriguing. You could have Atlanta, New Orleans, and Miami (maybe even Memphis/Nashville) as the the main cities and maybe have two college towns as your Tallahassee and Baton Rouge, a few small towns (definitely some racist ones lmao) and swamp/farmland in between.

That’s some shyt I’d at least play. I still don’t think that scale justifies the wait time. Only thing we should’ve been waiting for in this scenario is a playable continent.

Facts

The fukk am I going to find time to play as a grown ass man in 2027

14 year olds who played GTA 5 will be like 30 when GTA 6 comes out

I got greys now :mjlol:

Got more important shyt going on instead of waiting 1.5 decades for a ratchet-ass game :mjlol:

I still MIGHT cop though… gonna depend on if it’s not around $200.

I just don’t even care about the dates, the news about it, nothing. Not even to play GTA5 ever again either

I said this in the original thread and people thought i was capping. Im 42 years old just give me a sports game, I refused to let Rockstar play with me over this.

The countryside/desert parts of San Andreas were a vibe fr,

One of the few people that believe this. They already did London, and explained in full why fully switching countries to Japan (mainly Tokyo) wouldn't work.

Fr tho, a nikka already played Vice City so what’s new?

Everything? V took place in Los Santos, same as SA, but smaller in a sense since it left out Vegas and SF that SA had. But 0 of it plays the same. First game to have a female protagonist. First game to seemingly adapt this Bonnie and Clyde shyt.

Robberies are way more involved off the leaks. So is combat. Takes some inspiration from RDR2 in how they handle two armed weapons.

Hopefully you at least supported sleeping dogs

Ok and? Was it still in a location we were already familiar with? Other than adding little extras thanks to being next gen what was done? From GTA3 to SA you got something new every time not just in gameplay but in the worlds themselves. The excitement of a new environment and vibe is always welcomed. Agree to disagree on the rural areas too, SA was honestly the video game I had always dreamed of playing.

I’ll admit I didn’t get to hear why switching countries would be difficult and I also didn’t know they did London (because I wasn’t impressed with the rehash) so that’s cool. Even still, I’m not really impressed overall by the rehash. Doesn’t feel original to me.

Literally physics, NPCs, AI, gunplay/combat, car physics, etc. The leap from the 3D world to the HD 3D one has been obvious. I just played and beat SA last year and there's an apparent drop in quality imo

The London shyts are old. Like GTA 2 era

To just make it Vice City only yet take this long is super disappointing. Makes me not want to play the game at all. If you gon take this long then do the whole USA and use major/cultural cities with cameos in international cities like London, Paris, Tokyo, Bogota, etc.

Now that would’ve been well worth the wait. Waiting a decade plus for what’s essentially some remake shyt is some anything ass shyt.
Do you want a large detailed map with different environments, npcs, ways to navigate, events, missions, good graphics and detailed rockstar parody

Or do you just want to fast travel around the country/globe and look at a couple landmarks in generic cityscapes?

Because you’re gonna need 50 years and 8 ps5s to get what you want.

GTA at its core is a satire of American pop culture. Going international doesn’t really work for the most part because you lose the essence of the series with its high crime and satire and Americans aren’t going to relate to their parody/nuances. and doing the whole US doesn’t really work because most states aren’t identifiable enough to justify the resources and time it would require. As for single cities and surrounding areas, there are some cities that are big and culturally relevant in the US. But enough to base a gta whole game around and parody? Not really.

Most likely they will continue to expand the map in the future to include more surrounding areas though. 6 is already confirmed to be a Florida map in general so it’s not just Vice city

V played nothing like San Andreas. It was a modern take on southern California from 3 different perspectives in multiples biomes. Now San Andreas does feel like more of a map because it had 3 cities and V consisted of mainly large desert but V was way more detailed in its main area and was made for old hardware like the ps3. It already pushed the consoles to their very limit at the time.

Which is cool, and perhaps this is just where we part ways, but I feel like continuing to expand the world was also important. Obviously V is gonna be better than SA in different ways due to it being next gen but it still didn’t move me to cop the way SA did. Sure, the Los Santos that I played in was probably not as dynamic as V was but again, I’ve already seen Los Santos so why not something new? Why not Texas since that’s different?

Like, I feel like each game after SA should’ve parodied a new major metro/region and then eventually mash them all together into one country. They didn’t do that which is fine, but doesn’t mean ima give a fukk about what they releasing like that :ehh:

I mean obviously you can’t do the whole country. SA didn’t have Oakland for instance but it still managed to have three cities which presented different environments and challenges. Basically, instead of one SA with three cities, expand that to four SA’s and simply incorporate the most major or culturally important places and have the rural landscape reflective of the country. So something like:

Liberty City
Parody Boston
Parody DC

Vice City
Parody Atlanta
Parody Memphis

Parody New Orleans
Parody Houston
Parody Chicago

SA with Oakland added to San Fierro

That’s enough of the major hubs and enough spacing for various landscapes to make it interesting. I’d love to kick a nikka off the parody Grand Canyon or maybe have a mission that takes you down a parody Route 66 from Los Santos to parody Chicago on some cross country gang banging shyt.

And when I say international that’s more of a single mission based thing. Tokyo can incorporate the Yakuza. Milan can incorporate the Mafia. Bogota/Medellin incorporates the cartels. Etc. Even the thing mentioned about a playable Caribbean is some slick shyt.

Do I appreciate improved gameplay and graphics? Most definitely, but I just wish more could’ve been done on this side of things because as you said it’s a parody of America and that’s one of my favorite parts about it. So why not parody the whole damn country? I just feel that was the natural next step. Either way it ain’t happening but these are just my two cents on it.
