Literally physics, NPCs, AI, gunplay/combat, car physics, etc. The leap from the 3D world to the HD 3D one has been obvious. I just played and beat SA last year and there's an apparent drop in quality imo
The London shyts are old. Like GTA 2 era
Which is cool, and perhaps this is just where we part ways, but I feel like continuing to expand the world was also important. Obviously V is gonna be better than SA in different ways due to it being next gen but it still didn’t move me to cop the way SA did. Sure, the Los Santos that I played in was probably not as dynamic as V was but again, I’ve already seen Los Santos so why not something new? Why not Texas since that’s different?
Like, I feel like each game after SA should’ve parodied a new major metro/region and then eventually mash them all together into one country. They didn’t do that which is fine, but doesn’t mean ima give a fukk about what they releasing like that
Do you want a large detailed map with different environments, npcs, ways to navigate, events, missions, good graphics and detailed rockstar parody
Or do you just want to fast travel around the country/globe and look at a couple landmarks in generic cityscapes?
Because you’re gonna need 50 years and 8 ps5s to get what you want.
GTA at its core is a satire of American pop culture. Going international doesn’t really work for the most part because you lose the essence of the series with its high crime and satire and Americans aren’t going to relate to their parody/nuances. and doing the whole US doesn’t really work because most states aren’t identifiable enough to justify the resources and time it would require. As for single cities and surrounding areas, there are some cities that are big and culturally relevant in the US. But enough to base a gta whole game around and parody? Not really.
Most likely they will continue to expand the map in the future to include more surrounding areas though. 6 is already confirmed to be a Florida map in general so it’s not just Vice city
V played nothing like San Andreas. It was a modern take on southern California from 3 different perspectives in multiples biomes. Now San Andreas does feel like more of a map because it had 3 cities and V consisted of mainly large desert but V was way more detailed in its main area and was made for old hardware like the ps3. It already pushed the consoles to their very limit at the time.
I mean obviously you can’t do the whole country. SA didn’t have Oakland for instance but it still managed to have three cities which presented different environments and challenges. Basically, instead of one SA with three cities, expand that to four SA’s and simply incorporate the most major or culturally important places and have the rural landscape reflective of the country. So something like:
Liberty City
Parody Boston
Parody DC
Vice City
Parody Atlanta
Parody Memphis
Parody New Orleans
Parody Houston
Parody Chicago
SA with Oakland added to San Fierro
That’s enough of the major hubs and enough spacing for various landscapes to make it interesting. I’d love to kick a nikka off the parody Grand Canyon or maybe have a mission that takes you down a parody Route 66 from Los Santos to parody Chicago on some cross country gang banging shyt.
And when I say international that’s more of a single mission based thing. Tokyo can incorporate the Yakuza. Milan can incorporate the Mafia. Bogota/Medellin incorporates the cartels. Etc. Even the thing mentioned about a playable Caribbean is some slick shyt.
Do I appreciate improved gameplay and graphics? Most definitely, but I just wish more could’ve been done on this side of things because as you said it’s a parody of America and that’s one of my favorite parts about it. So why not parody the whole damn country? I just feel that was the natural next step. Either way it ain’t happening but these are just my two cents on it.
