2 years later, can we admit Watch The Throne was trash?

It's actually grown on me a little bit more, but of course on here it's either classic or garbage.

New day is something i listen to on the reg, i didn't like primetime when it came out but that's one joint that i really did a 180 on, i still say i would have rather just had a jay-z album with a couple kanye features. He wasn't really needed 85% of the time, especially on shyt like "i love you so" .

I thought it was a nice fun album and it was great to see Jay spitting again especially after his effort on BP3

Negativity (Kayfabe)
NIP is one of those dumb southern anthems but for pretentious people.

 That's a pretty good comparison.

Yea, the album pretty underwhelming. I took myself away from the hype and didn't listen to it for months (after it dropped) and I don't really like it.

It's not even wack, but; some of the songs sound throwaway-ish (That's My bytch, Who Gon Stop Me, Lift Off), it's too much pop, and it's overall too shallow for the guy who made College Dropout, Late Registration even Graduation and even shallow for Jay's standard.

Yes, New Day and Murder To Excellence were dope and deep. But, we could used 5 more of those; substantive subject matter over dope beats.

It's overrated. But, it gets too much hate. Jay-Z went off a few times (Welcome to the Jungle ).

It's just too average for too superstars. Like the OP said; if Marvin and Stevie got to together, we'd still be tryna recover from the Soul Tsunami.

Nah I still bump it.

The words Trash and Classic are severely overused here.

Everyone that makes a "can we all agree" type thread seems to think in such absolutes.

Honestly, I'm listening to it now and I'm willing to bet that if they did something as simple as have "Primetime" and "The Joy" replace songs like "Lift Off" and maybe..."Welcome to the Jungle"...this album would been looked at in a totally different light.
