Teenager from Philly drops viral song called Corvette Corvette. Uzi gets on remix and video, song blows up. As the kid gets lit, paperwork comes out that he and his mom witnessed a murder when he was 14 and he ID’d the shooter to the police. A bunch of older rappers (Gillie, Trippie Redd, Drakeo the Ruler) urge everyone to stop fukking with him. Uzi openly asks the kid to take him off remix. He’s labeled a snitch overnight and nobody wants to deal with him anymore.

fukking pathetic. Hope he finds peace and leaves this toxic culture behind him. Life’s bigger than that nonsense.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
You know the black community needs help when you demonize a kid who for helping the police find his friend killer after his own mother demanded that he do it.

Sorry to say but in other cultures around the world you will get a reality check for not listening to your parents.

His mother making him go to the police at the age of 14 should disqualify him from the snitch label these people are trying to haunt him with.

Kid was on the cusp of blowing up before he was cancelled (I can't think of a better word) by a bunch of old heads who pick and chose when to follow code, in an industry that's already full of phonies (of whom I'm sure these old heads bump shoulders with semi-regularly). So it's easy to see why this kid is going through it. Hopefully his support structure stays strong, and he learns to realize that life will offer him more blessings over time, even if it doesn't seem like it now.

It was some push back and folks were defending this kid. Folks even got at gillie for his part

Not gonna let yall make it seem like the whole industry was going in. It was Gillie specifically, uzi and toostie or whatever his name is.
Toosii was defending him and calling other rappers weird.

So he talked at 14, somehow he is now getting crucified for it at 20, and his pops told him to kill himself because of this or that was added onto the other fukkery? I literally know of none of these young artists or their stories, so this is a legitimate question.

That video was hard to watch once I went full empathy mode. I've been on both sides of that, grief is a whole bytch. I hope the young man finds a healthy way to deal with this.

Unfortunate
He must didn't make enough money from his 1 hit to remove himself from his environment.
He's song wasn't even on that type time, he could have easily pivoted and just built a non street fan base, then all them criticisms would be irrelevant
The pressure from his environment is probably getting to him though

In corvette he is talking about sliding on opps :francis:.
