After getting knocked down through the ropes and taking 10 seconds to climb back in Benn didn’t throw a punch the entire 1st round, that fight is stopped in anywhere else.

Benn also likely caused or exacerbated the brain damage by bashing Mclellan in the clinch behind the head while roided out.

People get mad at me when I point this out but whatever, I don’t blame Benn he was fighting for his life but the ref was terrible.

I think that brain injury never happens if Manny is in his corner or maybe the fight doesn’t even happen at all, all the signs were there a year before the fight

@Newzz The problem was G-Man was already damaged before this fight. He had a head injury after the first fight with Julian Jackson and had signs of impairment but he kept fighting. It's a testament to his power between that fight and the Benn fight he ko'ed his opponents within 1 round. Dude was gambling with that head injury in order to keep the superfight with Roy Jones alive and cash out. It's a shame

this is what happened....g-man gambled and unfortunately it all caught to him in a "perfect storm"...benn still got plenty of damage for taking g-man's punches for 10 rounds...benn was a nasty violent guy in his prime...that fight extinguished his killer instinct completely
