Was watching the Cam'ron interview on The Breakfast Club and it just HIT me out of nowhere that even though I'm not the biggest Cam'ron fan and I think he's borderline garbage today, there was a time when this nikka was actually making some of the dopest music with one of the dopest labels of ALL TIME. Then the shyt got me thinking about that time period 01-04 right before the emergence of the awful snap music/ringtone era how DOPE the albums were


It didn't matter who you stanned for, where you lived or anything of the sort, artists were dropping HEAT. Mainstream heat, underground heat, mixtape heat....


Roc-A-Fella Records with Kanye and Just Blaze behind the boards, Jay-Z at the height of his swagger and lyrical confidence













Nasir The Goat coming with the ferocity of a Lion out to reclaim his crown












The South dropping mainstream CLASSICS and Grammy Goats

I'm not even going to get into the Battle Of The Gods that shook New York to its very essence and birthed an eternal Stan War....

Or the mixtape and freestyle game going OD had everybody on their mother's desktops downloading Hot 97 sessions and Tapes off Limewire that gave you viruses

Yes. Great period in music. You forgot Obie Trice's debut, 50 Cent, Bubba Sparxx "Deliverence", state property vol. 2, Em's shyt, T.I.'s albums, sooooo much good music was dropping. I know I'm forgetting a lot.

That's the thing though, there was so MUCH excellent top tier music dropping that I COULDN'T include everything. And I'm not talking singles or songs, I'm talking ALBUMS. Just straight heat from start to finish....
