05-09ish was terrible but at the same time, 09 started to see a resurgence in artistry(kinda). SO far Gone dropped in 09 and nikkas been trying to utilize that method to blow up ever since, which has lead to some dope tapes and free albums.

It's been so good the last few years I almost forgot about a few spots there. I don't think that whole gap was bad but it was a lot of music that just didn't carry on.

I personally liked Lil Jon's music, I think it is good for what it is meant for but the sound then sounds real bad now. Glad Jazze Pha is out of the picture, Jellyroll too.

the texas 05-06 era was really the point where I just couldnt listen anymore. dudes like slim thug, Trae, paul wall, chamillionaire and mike jones were about as entertaining as a Clutch Cargo marathon.

When "lookin boy" & "yahhh" came out seriously I was starting to believe hiphop was dead, Then I was introduced to Lupe & Wale :blessed::blessed:

It really wasn't that bad for me though. Cz when hip hop was dying it was a golden age in the Gogo scene so i was pretty well fed. New CDs just about every week and shows were moving closer were I lived. The Thai, Icon, My Brothers Place, The Den

04-09 was the dark ages. Straight up minstrel rap music and Gucci Mane being the face of rap music as a whole was :snoop: as you can get.
