Stretch it to 2004 and I agree.

By 2005 it was on life support, dead by 2006, decomposed and stinking the rest of the decade.

I remember the :hamster: in 2005. The oldhead posters were legit mad when they heard them ringtone songs 24/7 and they, for the first time, missed the 90s. 06 is when the record sales began to look ugly outside of Nas, Jay, TI, Luda, and a few others. 07 was the dark age of rap at its pinnacle.

good year but not great.

i liked 2005 but it wasnt a memorable year. for every memorable thing that came out of it, there was some super-wack chit that was made to be un-avoidable. and everything in between was pretty forgettable. stuff that was good but would be answers to a trivia question in a legitimately memorable year.

the same could be said about '04, '06 and to a lesser extent '07. then after that, its a wrap for me.

the massacre was trash

no memorable tracks came out of the 50/game beef. just a bunch of stunts that may or may not have all been authentic, but they came off as some wrestling chit either way.

late registration was hot, but if thats one of the first albums you reminisce over, then its a weak year. same with documentary.

jeezy takeover was great tho. but as for the album, it falls in the same category with those kanye & game albums.

2005 = Carter 2

and tbh...2006-2008 .. Wayne was the only memorable thing of those times :ahh:

the mid/late 2000s was a rough few years. some of it was good party music (like this one) but, it was too much....far too much :damn:

I remember that era where I went underground and started listening to Reks, cause the inorganic music at that time period literally made me lose my mind. shyt was (and still is) a minstrel fest.
