I've said a number of times, a lot of y'all should just stop watching the NBA if all you're going to do is piss and moan and long for a day of basketball that quite frankly was completely different from today's game. Most teams from the early 2000's would get run the fukk off the court because of how different the play books are now. It would be like putting an NFL defense from the early 2000's against the cheifs or philly. It would go really fukking bad for them

Shaq trying to deal with being hunted constantly pick and rolls in the LA version of himself would be comical to watch. Young Shaq could most likely deal with it, not the LA version he'd be dead before halftime.

Duncan was a PF that year though. He'd be guarding Giannis and honestly would have his hands full there. Embiid would be blowing by Shaq like this on every play:

Spacing would be crazy too, Garnett/Duncan/Shaq getting pulled out to the perimeter all game while Giannis would have no problem cheating inside on defense then recovering back out.

Everyone just does this shyt where they ignore how far basketball has come from a tactical standpoint.

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
People say the league is more talented than ever, guys from yesteeyear cant play today, yadds yadda yadda. 03 would 4-0 them in a series
it's just the role players that have gotten better

most role players are suppose to be atleast 36% from the 3 this era. the superstars have it good this era. their role players spread the floor for them

Has the role players gotten "better" or has the game changed to allow scorers to score more and score more freely.

Let me ask you a question. Name me some role players from 2000-2005, then ask yourself, if you put them in the NBA now would their offensive production be better or worse?

The Starting Lineups for the NBA finals in 2003

Spurs:
PG 20 year Tony Parker who averaged 14 PPG and 4 AST
SG Stephen Jackson
SF Bruce Bowen
PF Tim Duncan
C 37 year old David Robinson

Nets:
PG Jason Kidd
SG Kerry Kittles
SF Richard Jefferson
PF Kenyon Martin
C Jason Collins

The league was so untalented that the Nets, a 1st round caliber team in 2023, made the finals. The Spurs would lose to at least 5 current NBA teams won the championship.

This is gonna be hilarious if the Heat make it

an 8th seed with like 3 g leaguers starting :dead:

Even better the 8th seed that beat the champions from 2 years ago, and the runner ups last year with Jimmy Butler and 7 Coli Nikkas with a video coordinator as a head coach :mjlol:

This wouldn't even be close to be honest with you as the 2003 team has ALL the advantages. KG can guard the entire front court at different times if need be. Duncan/Shaq could do work on Embid and Giannis and nothing they could do about it.
