juvenile had another great year, and all he was really trying to do was just fulfill his contract.

all that other stuff cash money was pushing was an after-thought until he left. even carter 1 took a while to blow up.

people have short memories but i dont. niccas know who the REAL legends are.

I was in the streets and listening to mixtapes, mostly D Block & Desert Storm plus the new dipset nikkas(at that time) Jr & Hell Rell had fire on the dipset compilations. I don't remember listening to any of the commercially released albums apart from the big ones like Confessions & College Dropout so I managed to avoid all the trash coming out in the mainstream. To me it was a great time but I wouldn't argue against anyone calling it wack.

Solid year. These were my favorite albums:

Kanye- College Dropout
Cee Lo Green- Cee Lo Green Is... The Soul Machine
Royce Da 5'9"- Death Is Certain
Lloyd Banks- The Hunger For More
The Roots- Tipping Point

Crunk Juice, Urban Legend, Straight Outta Cashville, Twista's Kamikaze, Ball & G's Living Legends, and Mobb Deep's Amerikaz Nightmare also got considerable play.

As far as R&B, it was the debut of John Legend. That album seemed to come out of nowhere. It was pushed back several times and it seemed like he disappeared after "Used To Love You", then boom the album came out. Alicia was still killin' with Diary of Alicia Keys, and Usher owned 2004 with Confessions. Mario also dropped his best song in "Let Me Love You".
