I just saw that Late Registration dropped in August '05 but I'm positive I was hearing that album like 6 months before that. I may be misremembering the time...
On the underground tip 9th wonder was cooking that year with Minstrel Show and the Album with Budkshot - Chemistry, remember listening to that nd Beanie Sigel The B Coming pretty often that year. I think Game was my most played of that year though honestly.

I was 14 & unfamiliar with message boards/album leaks, so I don’t recall it being out early. I do remember seeing the Diamonds video over the summer & being freaked out by the kids with the black contacts lolnegged!

I turned 16 in Summer '05, I wasn't online either. I remember Gold Digger was big that summer but I'm pretty sure I heard Diamonds before my birthday in June. Drive Slow, too...
It has been almost 20 years so i may have simply misremembered the era but i am pretty sure I heard the big songs, and the album, way before the 8/29/05 release date...
