more people believe Pau deserved FMVP in 2010 than believe Kobe carried them. "A little help" :mjlol:

No one said this. As a matter of fact Laker hating Bill Simmons was on the air after Game 5 of the 2010 NBA finals talking about Kobe deserving to win fmvp if/when the Lakers lose. He was actually clearheaded and unbiased because he was sure the Celtics were winning. It was only ESPN fratboys that tried to diminish what Kobe accomplished because they hate him. I have heard ESPN cacs on the air outright admit to hating Kobe. I have never seen anything else like that with any other player outside of OJ. My theory is the rape trial did that. White men (analysts) still are upset about Kobe bending that white groupie over. Really there is some lowkey racism that still exists with this irrational level of hate.

2 HOFs. Pau is getting in

because of kobe. his pre-Lakers resume was not NBA HOFer worthy. one all-star appearance. zero playoff wins. 18/9 career numbers. good player but not a HOFer. the only way HOFer before Kobe would be because of his international resume.

it was playing with Kobe that made Pau an NBA HOfer.

I swear to God, I will never debate with a Laker fan on this board again. Jesus Christ. Jesus fukking Christ. What the hell.

No one is gonna deny Kobe modeled himself after Jordan but at this point I think it's obvious they aren't exactly the same player. Kobe added moves to his arsenal from other players aside from Jordan just like any once in a lifetime student of the game like the one shooting gawd would do.

Your man lebron hasn't even gotten to Kobe's level yet so stop tryna hit fast forward when this nikka ain't did shyt.

He didn't lead anyone to anything in the Shaq era. Shaq was undoubtedly the leader of that team and the first option and managed to win another ring before Kobe and yeah that's a good stat. But Lebron isn't done yet. Kobe's pretty much finished, and not because he can't deliver, but because the Lakers are in shambles.

Kyrie/Love/Lebron will contend for the next few years.

see the earlier posts. 29/7/6 in 2001. 27/6/5 in 2002. Killing the Spurs every year. Kobe led the Lakers to those 2001 and 2002 rings as much as Shaq did. They were the co-leaders of those teams. Kobe was the one they counted on in the clutch and he was the one that led them when they faced the best teams out west. Shaq just feasted during the finals against the weak teams from the east.

if they have out MVPs for the entire playoffs rather than just the finals, Kobe and Shaq woulda probably shared the 2001 Playoff MVP and maybe even 2002. 2000 wasa the only ring where Shaq was clearly the leader and Kobe was the sidekick.

The difference is this. Kobe can be close to Jordan. As good as he is, he's a carbon copy of Jordan. Does everything Jordan could do, just not as a good. Lebron has a chance to surpass Jordan. He probably won't. Actually I know he won't, but he has the skillset, and the talent to do so.

Lebron is a once in a lifetime player. Kobe isn't. Because it's been done before.

My opinion.

LOL @ that being a bad thing. You basically admitted that Kobe is better than LeBron cause he's a carbon copy of the GOAT. A guy who you doubt LeBron can be better than.

I'll take Kobe's copycat style of the most popular, exciting, and famous athlete in world history over Bron's uniqueness. Kobe's game is so much more appealing to the eyes because he patterned it after Jordan. Bron's unique style is very unappealing to watch on the other hand. It may be unqiue but its a bad form from uniqueness.

I think the biggest thing you're missing is efficiency. Jordan shot over 50% most of his career. Lowest being 41% in the year he came back from retirement. His highest being 53% in 91.

Kobe has never shot over 46%. Not once in his career, and his best year from 3 is 38%, Jordan's best year from 3 is 42%.

Coming from someone who thinks people DRASTICALLY overrate Jordan, Kobe doesn't do anything better than him. Nothing. Maybe 3s, MAYBE, because Jordan got better as time went on.

It's always crazy to me how players have their statuses raised when playing with kobe and how players are diminished when playing with lebron...yet bron is the one with the "he makes his teammates better" rep...gasol and bosh are on the same tier of players all things considered (and honestly bosh was seen as > gasol prior to playing with kobe/bron...all nba 2nd team, multiple allstar)...gasol gets traded to the lakers and goes from being a 1 time allstar pretty good player that memphis essentially ran out of town for being a soft bytch that consistently folded in the playoffs, into people swearing to god he's "the best big in the entire league" overnight...bosh prior to signing to mia is the most coveted pf in the league, has his standing as player diminished a half step above glen davis in an instant :heh: ...that's not even mentioning how wade went from "best player in the league" contention to being seen as a worthless role player bron was burdened to play with...if these cavs don't win people will treating love and kyrie like d league players lol

best post in this thread.

for all the talk about Kobe not making his teammates better, its seems just about everyone has career years playing next to him while dudes have the worst years of their careers next to LeBron.

watch Bosh go back to being a 24/11 player next season and Love forgets how to score and rebound. :troll:

I can get with this. I dont agree with you but I can see your point and I respect the logic here. Max Kellerman explained it best. He said that it is easier for Bron to get into the top 5 than Kobe. He explained that the top 5 sg spot is taken by Jordan while the SF spot is held by Bird. There is room in the top 5 for Bron but Kobe is being bloked by MJ because of the similar skill set. My point is that it doesnt have to be mutually exclusive. It can be MJ then Kobe. TBH Lebrons ring record takes him out of the running right now.

Nah, I don't give a fukk about efficiency actually that's for stat geeks. Numbers can be nice and pretty or whatever, but Kobe can get it done from anywhere on the floor including long range and doesn't give a fukk about how clean his numbers are as long as he wins. Plus lesbianas, Kobe shoots way more from 3 than Jordan did so of course his numbers would be better. But wait, I thought this was about LeBron....funny how it's become about Jordan now. I guess you realize even comparing LeBron to either of them is fukkin retarded to begin with. :russ:

Jeff Van Gundy said the same thing before game 6.

anyone who watched that ENTIRE series knows Kobe deserved finals MVP. he was far and away the best player.

smush parker went from a 10 day contract player and NBDL mainstay to a two year starting NBA point guard simply because of prime Kobe's presence on the floor. nikkaz gon stop disrespecting mein fuhrer out chea. :beli:

Kobe isn't better than Lebron. It's not even worth debating. Efficiency is a great stat. PER, Win Shares, and Per 36 numbers are for stat geeks. Field gold percentage isn't.
