We just got so much good competition to talk about we can make this thread. I could understand if the SEC was a boring ass conference like the PAC 12 or the ACC even the Big 10.

I've never seen such corny "conference" pride out of the SEC. You guys lower admissions standards and are good at football and it's let's all get together like we're throwing back to the confederacy. I do not root for any team not wearing Maize and Blue. So you actually root for rival schools when they're playing other games? I would only hope they win to the extent that my W looks good. When did this stuff start? :scusthov:

I actually think y'all might end up better than A&M.

But that might just be my aggie hate talking

I think we'll be better than A&M too...because well...we've been better than for the better part of the last 10 years...and they go into the much tougher division at the moment (although that's clearly cyclical)...so at least short term I see us faring much better than A&M

who here is rooting for a rival? we just talking bout the conference. i'd rather have a conference thread with 100+ post then 10 threads with 10 post each. i've never once run into a person in SEC country that roots for the rival unless it benefits their team

Exactly!! The SEC is the major league conference so it deserves it's own thread because of the competition.

Kiehl Frazier will lead the SEC in interceptions this season.

@reincar...yeah, Petrino is gone and so is Joe & Jarius...but we still have the same off coord as well as another one of Wilsons favorite targets in Cobi Hamilton who I think is gonna have an all conference year...and also we got marquel wade...who is a joe Adams type player with the speed, agility and versatility.

Everybody can hate on the Hogs all they want...even without Petrino here, I'm confident that we will have an excellent season... :smugfavre:

I think youre going to find without those NFL receivers it may just be your own Tyler Wilson :smugfavre:

noone hates the Hogs breh, we just know the Hogs aint there talent wise, and without Petrino they aint there coaching wise either :manny:

folk can hate Auburn and say well Gene aint shyt even with a title, but we atleast recruit in the top 10 every year, that alone SHOULD tell folk we potentially might be in the hunt for not just the SEC but the whole damn thing :manny:

Houston Nutt may be a sporadic coach but he recruited better at Arkansas than Petrino did, and I think it will show soon

Even without Petrino, we are going to have a good year. Like I said, yeah, we lost 2 good WRs...but we still have plenty of talent. We will compete for the SEC 'ship this year...and only this year. I'm not worried about the Hogs THIS season. It's next year that I am fearing. We are going to return back to ~.500 records.

What you said about Nutts recruiting...I'm not sure about that. Yeah, he got DMac, Jones and Hillis...but what else? Mustain and Damian Williams came in a package deal with Gus...that was some shady under the table recruiting.

All I'm saying is that we still have talent and I look for us to still have a good season this year without Petrino. Next year though....:sadbron:

The top player in the state of Virginia for 2013, Jonathan Allen, has committed to Alabama today. No surprise really.
