so all of you just gonna ignore what mc lyte said at the end of her speech by finally being the ONE female to actually admit women need us to "protect them when they cant protect themselves" :mjpls:

:dead: at how the camera cut right to 2chainz tho when she asked rappers to stop cursing women out :dead:

2 Chainz is getting shytted left and right these last few weeks. From the flop to MC Lyte to his performances, everything is falling apart for him.

off topic but you noticed in the various things Black folks have been elite in.....the one thing we have not had a renaissance in was Film and TV?

all our "classics" in that department always gotta be some corny comedy shyt

this BET hip hop awards show was the quintessential example just straight corny jokes...everything is a joke...

how long are we gonna be going with this "oh its just having fun you guys are just being boring grandparents criticizing party music"

WildSelf did you ever sit back and realize to yourself our community has for months been hyping up a song with the lyrics "nicca i ain't worried about nothing!!" :what:

what is wrong with us???

:wtf:

20 years from now when lebron james is looking at his career highlights......do you think he will remember why he was saying "nicca i ain't worried about nothing" when he beat the spurs?

why don't we try to make music that is long lasting and just "music for the moment" all the time simply because we want to have fun and cannot take criticism over it and automatically call someone lame for the wack ass "club music".

folks make fun of you for listening to in their words "boring old school music" but i would feel more comfortable blasting "ruffneck" by mc lyte than hearing this trash

sorry for the rant but this shyt really pisses me off not always because of how it makes people my age look by the elders who we already know can be condescending as hell

even our legends like bone thugs& harmony end up being horrible struggling live performers.....it looks embarrassing as hell seeing an older family member not knowing of people like rakim, mc lyte, nas, tragedy khadafi, etc seeing random people on stage just yelling into a mic rapping about some nonsense.

You know it wouldn't be the coli without hate:pachaha: This is the same forum where artists trying to kick knowledge is frowned upon:scusthov: I'm not talking preachy knowledge but sharing personal experiences to set an example or trying to send a positive message to our community. They just get clowned on for being backpack rappers.
I think there should be a lil something for everyone. Club music, gangsta music, something for the women, and positive music all has its place. While I prefer some over others,I believe that diversity is good for the genre instead of everyone sounding the same...like on the radio.

nikkas hate when people think differently. They are like simps: They shame people that know better and know the long term consequences of people that promote fukkery. Guess that's the way of the world, I guess. They hate on people that actually try to improve themselves and use the lowest common denominator to make money and fukk ratchet bytches. shyt is gonna collapse for them, cause sooner or later, the demand will plunge and disappear.

Waka FLocka is a cool dude, but don't let that marketing fool you. These record companies portray black folk as the lowest form of life on earth, but people eat up that shyt and call it "real street shyt that real nikkas like" while destroying the 'keep it real' and 'real nikka' connotations.
