The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets have discussed a trade for Celtics star Paul Pierce, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Nets' offer centered on forward Kris Humphries, guard MarShon Brooks and a first-round draft pick, but the Celtics want a more substantial package to consider moving Pierce, league sources said.
"The Celtics still highly value Pierce and it wouldn't make sense to trade him for that kind of a package if they're keeping Kevin Garnett," one league source said.
Boston has shown interest in forward Mirza Teletovic and securing another possible first-round pick, but the Nets have shown no inclination to pay that steep of a price for Pierce.
Memphis is in talks with the wiz for Jordan Crawford no details yet

The Blazers continue to try to extract a future first-round pick for J.J. Hickson
The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to be among the most active teams at the 2013 trade deadline, with over half their roster being mentioned in trade rumors.
The San Antonio Spurs will likely move forward DeJuan Blair close to the deadline, ultimately accepting the best final offer for him, sources said. Blair has wanted a trade for more than a year, and clearly will not re-sign with the Spurs as a free agent this summer.
The Spurs had tried to canvass the market for a first-round pick, but have relented on that demand. The Spurs could get a second-round pick, or perhaps a player on an expiring deal in return.
Sources close to the process peg the San Antonio Spurs has a good fit and a team that has expressed some interest in Casspi, the problem is they won’t offer much for him. If the Cavs would do a DeJuan Blair based deal, the Cavs could find a taker on Casspi fairly quick.
The Phoenix Suns appear to be out of the Josh Smith sweepstakes.
Phoenix has had talks with Atlanta about Smith, who will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
However, the Suns have been engaged in discussions about their own role players in Sebastian Telfair and Jermaine O'Neal. Toronto, looking for a backup point guard, has interest in Telfair, as well as Minnesota's Luke Ridnour and Oklahoma City's Eric Maynor.
Richard Hamilton can be had by any team that has the cap room or trade exceptions to absorb his contract, and the Bulls have gotten plenty of inquiries, most notably from the Houston Rockets.
