Josh Smith has to get moved and i really don't care for what

hawks are destined for eternal mediocrity. ownership group needs reboot. they messed up a long time ago by letting jchill leave and then jumping headfirst into disaster by maxing out isojoe.

they can't get anything of equal value by letting jsmoove go. him and al horford are the only players keeping them in playoff contention year in and year out.

Not really. Atlanta has some pieces. Will Atlanta ever be champions is to be seen. But it's a fact that they will never win with the Horford/Smith core. That's a forgone conclusion.

I've been saying for month if you can't get something you feel you can build around that can contend, just let Smoove walk, that's better than something. In the NBA, sometimes nothing can be better than something if something equal where the Milwaukee Bucks are today. Where we are today isn't much better, we just happen to have more talent. Our biggest problem isn't talent today, it's fit, size, and scoring.

I think we have the talent right now to contend in the East. The only team who has more talent than us is Miami and D. Rose Bulls. We have as much talent as everyone else if not more. It's a fit, size, and scoring issue.

d12 for josh smith/ZaZA Puchulia... ive said this numerous times..

it works money wise...

works for the lakers.. moves gasol to his natural position C..

D'antoni offonse is focused on the PG/PF positions(look @ Earl Clark for proof)

1. Howard would not sign extension during the season therefore he wants to leave
--> Not 100 % correct, If he signs the extension right now he is only eligible to sign 3 yrs
instead of 5yr(if he chooses to Lakers) or 4 yrs(if he chooses to sign with other team)
therefore even if Howard is traded, he is not going to sign the extension with the team
during the season.

2. Howard S&T options
--> Under NEW CBA RULE, Lakers still can do S&T Howard to other team but there will
not most likly happened. Because 1. opposing team must be under cap
2. Howard would get SAME money and yrs as if he just signs with new team. So If Lakers
S&T Howard to Houston or Dallas, Howard would get same money 4 yrs about 88M.
That is same money Houston or Dallas can sign him outright. So there is no point for
Howard to force S&T unless Howard feels he owes Lakers which I doubt it.

3. Max Money Howard could get is with Lakers 5yrs about 110M
Max money Howard could get with other teams is 4 yrs about 88M.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

then there this
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....s-it-is-no-accident-they-have-2014-cap-space/

Right now the only Lakers contract on the books for that season is Steve Nash at $9.7 million. You can expect Dwight Howard will be added to that list in the neighborhood of $21 million when he re-signs with the team this summer (he could technically leave but I wouldn’t bet on it). That’s a little over $30 million on the books, which even with the salary cap where it is now would leave them $28 million to chase free agents. That’s at least one max free agent.

“We purposely ended all contracts that year,” Buss said. “I can’t talk about Kobe (Bryant), but this is what he signed till. So basically we put everything to that, and we want to make a big splash in the free-agent market if we get to that spot. So we designed the contracts and the players and our future all around that….

“Yeah, depending on the free agents that year,” Buss said. “We would basically, money-wise, be able to sign the top free agent – maybe even two. I don’t know the numbers exactly, because we’re not privy to what the cap is and how much room we have, but it’s going to be close to two of the top free agents that year.”

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Wouldn't be suprised if Boston somehow landed Josh Smith for some ridiculous trade that people don't expect (names involved is what I mean). Wouldn't be suprised to see KG and PP retire after this year clearing some room to resign Smooth.

i agree right now atl has as much talent as any team in the east...except mia, chi (drose), and ny.

trading jsmoove would put them right back into perpetual rebuilding mode. how long can they do this? got to double down and commit at some point. i think josh could end up being a breakout player here, he's on the cusp now.

dwight is from atl and already said he doesn't want to come back. especially to a team that will always be a mid pack team like the hawks. although it would be exciting to see al at his true position with d12 at center. :ehh:

I like NYK talent but not as much as Atlanta. What NY has is fit and size. But they are starting a team full of one way players. Not one two way player on their roster. I don't know how they are going to win a title that way.

Atlanta has three two way players. That's as much as Miami but last year Atlanta had four two way players to start the season. Having two way players don't matter much if they aren't great. Boston has three two way players, four if you include Rondo and they are 7th seeds behind us. Chicago has two two way players in Deng and Rose. Chicago fans are hyping Butler as a two way player.

In the NBA, you need size, fit, and talent. Miami is one of the only teams that went to the Finals with only 1 out of three but they had Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. That doesn't really count since they had superior talent. Unless NY can get enough talent to with the size and very good fit they have in NY, they won't be contenders. Same for Indiana. Some want to say Miami is starting to fit this year but they do it in spurts. Who knows if they will in the playoffs? If they do, it's over. Miami winning it all again.

OKC only issue is fit. Does :youngsabo: fit. But they have extreme talent and great size. It was enough to overwhelm San Antonio and should be enough this year.

I don't buy Josh breaking out in LA but then again, it's possible especially if they can steal Morrow or Korver from Atlanta but getting Korver is like pulling teeth from Ferry. That was his 2nd major move after the Joe trade.I covet Korver more than Teague. He just is a complete team player, consistent, smart, and he can shoot extremely well and his team defense is good. I love his game. I just do not see LA trading Dwight and I don't think they should either.

nyk has better top players and better bench. better coach too. which cheap azz atl should have never let go if they were just going to hire the assistant.

and the only team in the east that has a chance at dethroning mia would be a healthy chi team with drose at 110% pre-acl.

la would rather dwight walk than trade him. that would be smart money. agreed with korver vs teague. josh wouldn't excel under d'antoni imo. personality clash. he's a weak motivational coach and josh is mercurial and needs strong consistent leadership.

Atl and NY fans had plenty of arguments in the past about Smith v. Melo, Horford v. Melo. But for now, Melo is clearly the best player on both teams. He is the elite offensive juggernaut and he has played some solid defense next to Chandler. That's enough to say Melo is just better and also Melo is regained his spot in the top 10 of NBA players. With that said, Horford and Smith are criminally underrated as well.

Tyson is clearly the 4th best player but his impact might be greater for the Knicks than Smith this year for the Hawks.

Both teams have solid benches especially when Lou is healthy.

Copeland, Smith, Novak, the PG from Italy v. Lou, Zaza, Stevenson, and Ivan Johnson. Both benches are nice. Neither have anything on LAC bench. :blessed:

LD has really improved this year as a coach. We have lose few games this year because of him and he put Josh in his place. Say what you want but he's been pretty good. He changed up the offense to fit Teague and it paid dividends. He came in better than Woddy in first year in Atlanta. Woody really improved his 3rd season as a HC and LD is doing the same.

I don't like this extra passes Princeton offense but what else can we do with our personnel :manny:

We can't do like NY, we don't have a bonifide stud like Melo.

My Pops Forever RIP
think about it though:

Playoffs are pretty much set except for Houston/Portland/LA in the West.

Big free agent summer isn't for another year.

Other than Phoenix, no bad team's ready to begin a full scale rebuild.

If shyt goes down, it's gonna happen over the summer

I agree, this FA class isn't going to be great. Bynum will be the top player then Smoove.

The East will be tough. The great thing for the Hawks is the majority of the schedule is Eastern conference teams. Milwaukee, Boston, Philly, and Toronto will make it interesting in the East.
