This year is actually great, the best in a long long time. Even when it comes to triple aaa games you have witcher, batman, mgs, bb, fallout, xenoblade, mario maker, star wars battle front, halo, and tomb raider. That's really good for a calendar year. And that's just triple A games

I wont even open it up too much,ill only down to an 85 metacritic requirement. If i go down to 80 we are talking a couple hundred titles. No exaggeration.

Idk man this seems like a great year. This isn't even including <<<85 games so far.
There's less games because games are much more costlier this gen and games(ambitious ones) take longer. That's readily apparent with how slow Sony has been this gen with releasing 1st party titles.

I didnt make the lists. I simply took titles that had a 90+ metacritic score.fez was in the 2013 list.

Nobody is saying their isnt good to great games still coming out. Their is.

Back in the 2000s it was impossible to keep up with every good game,their was simply too many spread out across multiple platforms.

Nowadays the ps4/xbox game list is almost identical,with handfuls of exclusives.

Now when even a good game out everbody plays it,because their simply isnt anything else to play.

Games were cheaper (dramatically the further you go back) and less time consuming to make, more studios then, expectations were lower and games did less and were ultimately smaller in scope and shorter in completion time.
