2014 Cadillac CTS To Get 420-HP Twin-Turbo V-6 Engine - The Washington Post

The larger CTS will soon be all-new as well, due for the 2014 model year--and it'll bring a twin-turbo V-6 engine with it, rated at 420 horsepower.

That's all we have to work with so far, but it's not just a rumor--the tidbit was released by Brian Corbett of Cadillac communications this morning on Twitter. The engine isn't for the next-gen CTS-V, either--this is for a "normal" CTS. The stout TT V-6 will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Perhaps even more enticing than a brawny (and likely slightly larger) mainstream CTS luxury sedan is the likelihood that a variant of this engine is the powerplant for the upcoming ATS-V

I must admit I would be very interested in a V6 twin turbo'd ATS-V.....

Its going to happen. The M3 and C AMG will probably have TT 6 cylinder engines too.

The new engine can go in anything the regular 3.6 is in. That's crazy.

Man, that would be nice to have that in the ATS-V. I wonder what the fuel economy is like for that engine. I don't see it replacing the CTS-V but something like that in the ATS would be awesome. Now with tuning I bet they could get 500hp out of that engine.

Probably about the same as a 335. As long as you stay out of boost, you're good.

Well their goal all along was to make this a grown up car. Move it out of the CTS out of the 3 series, C-Class, G35, A4 class and into the mid-sized luxury sedan class. Competing with the 5, GS, E, CLS etc.

So mission accomplished. I think it looks clean. And that engine
