Because it's not what the fans want :dahell:

so what fans want is more important than the theoretical competitive advantage that it's giving?

so fans would rather give up a competitive advantage and have the FCS games early than have them late and gain a competitive advantage?

it's nonsense...there's no advantage...it's a talking point built because people have a need to complain about something.

Scheduling is done years in advance tho or am I missing something

The argument that's being made is less about who...but more about when.

Many SEC teams traditionally schedule one of their weakest opponents later in the year to serve as somewhat of an extra bye week in turn they start conference play earlier.

the complains being made in this thread is that it's akin to cheating and the SEC should stop doing this...my assertion is that other conferences should follow suit if it's that big of an advantage.

USC hasnt scheduled anyone like that in a looooong time. We play nothing but d1 known schools. The supposed " best league" in the conference should do the same. I mean crap schedule the bottom dwellers of major conferences or something. Over here playing bible colleges and schools that sound like they are for hair styling and cosmetics

Thats not a theoretical advantage, its p*ssy scheduling. A theoretical advantage is playing a weak power 5 team like purdue, or a wac/sun belt team. There's no reason to be playing Div 1AA opponents in november

I can't deal with this reasoning...you're picking out one school and comparing their scheduling against an entire conference's scheduling...it's ridiculous.

What's the difference between 1AA opponents in November and 1AA opponents in September?
