Maybe we getting misunderstood here but ECU would have to reverse time to go undefeated. BYU is actually undefeated.

If ECU went 11-1 and BYU went actually undefeated, then you'd choose the undefeated team.

Well if ECU won the rest of their games and BYU went undefeated, but ECU would seem to have the better resume I guess
