Well we were pretty damn close.. playoff spot blown by a fukking kicker who ironically the NFL deemed a few weeks ago isn't even a real football player

Alas. looks like we'll be picking in the 14-16 range

Steelers fans what improvements are you looking for this offseason?

At this point, I'm thinking there is no way we can avoid drastic upgrades to the secondary. Clark is done, Ike Taylor is not the player he used to be, Troy stayed healthy all season so you know damn well he won't next year, and what's left after those guys is unproven. We need at least one corner and one safety either high in the draft or in free agency.

Also the key to our D I believe is a new NT who is a monster against the run taking up 2 blockers like Casey Hampton used to. Should open up the pass rush with further improvements from Worilds (and hopefully Jarvis Jones), and should make the secondary look better by default

The offense? Just keep on plugging, and nab a big WR to play that #2 spot because Manny Sanders is not your guy..

alotta holes and i'm not sure we have enough high picks to fill them, especially with the way the front office has been whiffing in the draft the last 4/5 years. if the team wasn't to fukkin broke and owing backloaded cash to old players, i'd say free agency but who am i kidding we don't ever fukking make a splash in free agency.

I'd love to take evans and give big ben a large weapon that is sorely needed but i also think we need to get a can't miss type of player for our secondary with our 1st rounder as well. I haven't really paid attention to any of the top DB's in this draft so i don't even know if there is such a player worthy of our 1st pick but :yeshrug:. as far as getting rid of players, ryan clark should be gone, ike might be gone but either way we need another CB. troy has to be kept because without him this year we woulda had pretty much no turnovers forced. woodley has to be cut whenever his cap number is lowest to us cause he's pretty much done. i don't really care for worilds so if some team wants to overpay him then let him walk.

let our defensive rookies play before their 3rd year and tell our lineman to remember not to hurt each other and we might have something...

Didn't see the thread:leon:

But anyways....

Clark/Keisel/Ike/Foote/Levi Brown/Hood/Sanders/Cotchery could all be gone. I think Clark for sure is done. Ike was talking about moving to safety apparently

They still need to draft a DB regardless

I hope they can re-sign Worilds and cut Woodley. Jarvis Jones should good with an off-season in the weight room. I'd like to try McLendon at RE and get a real NT. Heyward is a beast at LE. We need a real punter. I want a bigger receiver opposite of Brown.I think only one will stay between Cotchery/Sanders. We don't really know what we have in Wheaton. A change of pace back to go with Bell would be good also. Felix Jones can go. If Velasco was healthy I'd consider trading Pouncey for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Even Cody Wallace didn't do all that bad:yeshrug:

We're picking 15th btw

1. Houston Texans - 2-14 (.559)
2. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-13 (.516)
3. Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-12 (.504)
4. Cleveland Browns - 4-12 (.516)
5. Oakland Raiders - 4-12 (.524)
6. Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 (.553)
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-12 (.573)
8. Minnesota Vikings - 5-10-1 (.512)
9. Buffalo Bills - 6-10 (.520)
10. Detroit Lions - 7-9 (.457)
11. Tennessee Titans - 7-9 (.504)
12. New York Giants - 7-9 (.520)
13. St. Louis Rams - 7-9 (.553)
14. Chicago Bears - 8-8 (.465)
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - 8-8 (.469)

Secondary, secondary, secondary. I will drop a more detailed post but our most glaring weakness is our secondary. Oline got better, offense started clicking Dline did their thing which let of LB's get pressure but our secondary was our biggest problem.

picking at 15.

need db's. oline still sucks and can't stay healthy. is manny sanders coming back?
I doubt it, someone (Patriots) gonna throw a shipload of money at him. Troy is due 10 Milli next season and if tHey cut him it gives them 8 million off the cap. I wonder what happens there. His play showed he can still go but I wonder if he will give the discount, my gut says hell Yea though...but u never know.

You gotta be happy how we closed out the season. A lot of young guys stepped up- Gives us a lot of hope for the future:ehh:
Yup

Heyward is :ohlawd:
McLendon(I'd try him at RE)
Vince Williams got some valuable experience
Jarvis got valuable experience. Needs to get stronger this offseason.
Le'Veon Bell
S. Thomas
DeCastro
Beachum(would have never guessed this)
Worilds(got to re-sign him)

I'm optimistic:yeshrug:

i would not draft a corner with the first pick or even second.

Number 1. There aren't even that great of shut down corners out there
Number 2. Look at the past previous years, dudes like milliner, kirkpatrick etc. have been busts

If I'm the steelers I draft a eric ebron or a jace amaro to slide in at te and open that offense, a jordan matthews at wr.

I'd rather spend money in fa on defense

I agree we draft a Kelvin Benjamin or whatever round 1 and then just load up on D.

I would like to draft a physical mismatch at one the skill positions on offense. Brown is :ohlawd: but Ben really don't have that physical presence at WR/TE that other qb's have. A beast at WR/TE would do wonders for an offense that was better the 2nd half of the season

look at what corradelle (sp) patterson has done to that anemic crap vikings offense since they started includinghim, or keenan allen in san diego, or tyler eifert in cincy (almost 500 yards as the second te), or zach ertz in philly

explosive offensive rookies can step in right away and contribute.

while look at luke joeckel and eric fisher first two offensive lineman taken and both have been crap as hell this year
