Saw that earlier. I really like the signing. If he can get Mike Adams up to speed....

True & I'd like to see Bell's YPC going up easily, it'd be nice if it's a full yard to like a 4.5! LOL. It's wild that they say Munchak interviewed with the Browns & left without the HC job. But we'll take him!

Four offensive linemen played at least 800 snaps with left guard Ramon Foster (819) and left tackle Kelvin Beachum (807) joining Gilbert and DeCastro in that group. Fernando Velasco played 723 snaps despite not signing with the Steelers until after the first game of the season and missing the final four games because of a ruptured Achilles tendon. Eight offensive lineman played at least 250 snaps.

Gilbert & DeCastro played 922 snaps. I think I can honestly say that is somewhat of an improvement. Despite all the injuries & shifting, it was enough for Ben to play EVERY snap this season. I only see nothing but improvement from here on with Munchak

I'm really hoping we'll instill more no-huddle next season. It showed it could work with Ben under center & that means we should make sure he retires as a Steeler. To my Steeler brethren, do ya'll think about WR in the early stages of the draft is needed? Right now, I don't think so....especially for a big receiver. You have 3, still young, receivers looking to start over, especially on one year deals.

You have Sidney Rice & Kenny Britt. Both talented, one has just been injury prone & the other a head case. Danario Alexander, I feel for him, he has all the talented but can't stay healthy to save his career. Especially with reports of complications from his most recent surgery.

I read somewhere the front office is looking at receivers in the first 2 rounds and want to get a big one at that as well.

do yall think williams can come in and replace clark?

he has shown some promise as far as run support but idk about coverage.

who could we possibly look at or bring in to replace him?

and I had enough of adams, his ass needs to be benched :camby: we can land a solid tackle in the middle rounds if possible.

we definitely need a nt, McClendon is a good player but he dosent take up the amount of blockers that big Hamp did, Hayward earned him a starting spot but hood has been inconsistant so who will replace kiesal?

I'm drawing a blank:patrice:

I feel like this is going to be a make or break camp for Adams. With Munchak coming in to teach him there are no more excuses. He has the physical tools but he has far too many lapses in technique. I'm honesty surprised Beachum took over at LT. He's the complete opposite of Adams. Not as physically imposing but his technique was way better. I believe I saw something that said Gilbert was our most inconsistent starter. I'd like to see Adams back over there at RT where he had some success as a rookie

It's like Ben always lobbies for a tall receiver, I think that's why we brought Plax back. But we're not bringing him back this time. This draft is deep with receivers, I like the story on Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews & he put up some sleeper numbers at the combine. I think this draft should focus more on defense.

The D definitely needs help.Maybe get Ebron or one of the taller receivers in the 1st then go heavy on defense. If plausible I'd like to trade down to recoup that 3rd round pick we gave to the Browns for Shamarko Thomas. I'd even look at a guy like Martavis Bryant in the mid rounds as a back up plan

A tall receiver is needed especially in goal line situations, look at what he did with Cotchery this year and he's just 6'1 I think. Give Ben that big target, with a healthy Heath and the running/blocking improvements we had in the second half of the season and that offense will show out. I still believe that our biggest concern is our D. The Dline played better in the second half which let our linebacker's start getting to the QB but we still need to revamp our whole secondary IMO

The Bay
Y'all hating on Steve Mac but yet our opponents only averaged 2.19 YPC with him on the field at NT
thats a damn good number regardless of how you look at it

Moving forward to the draft/combine

Only 4 players I want at 15
#1 would be Mosley but thats not happening
the drop-off after him at MLB is too much for a #15
and he is even considered a gamble by some

WR is going to be interesting come draft day
Tampa Bay is gonna be key
We know the Rams are taking one
but they have picks at 2 and 13

The interesting thing is the 2nd pick
Id trade it for a 4-7 spot while picking up another 2nd if I were the Rams
Clowney is to me the most overrated player in the draft
a lot of people have him going to the Rams but that makes zero sense with the Rams dline being good
They have to go Oline to protect Sam Bradford here then WR at 13

Tampa Bay will also potentially grab a WR if they dont get on in Free Agency.
But with Lovie being defensive minded I really think they might go DE/OLB
They also will have the fortune of no Olineman being picked yet so they will have the pick of the litter
there are 3 great tackles on the board for them

At WR there are only 2 WRs I really want at 15
Watkins and Evans
I will still hold out hope that Marquies Lee is selected earlier than expected by one of these teams leaving us at least Evans

Im not high on going Dline, or DB at 15
Save it for the 2nd and 4th

Most defense they better not go defense in the first round, thing that excites me the most is the front office saying this is the deepest draft they've seen in a long time, that to me means they see quality from the first to the seventh round and most likely won't have to reach for any picks

The reason I'm hoping we don't go too high with a tall receiver in the early rounds is because the last few years, we have found gems in the later rounds. Like A.B. in the 6th Round, Mike Wallace & Emmanuel Sanders in the 3rd Round and with that being said, that's why we're going to see what Wheaton can do since he was a good 3rd Round pick as well. I think the 3rd or 4th round, if a Bryant or Matthews is available, then snatch them up!

Exactly, Ben loves that big target in the red zone & he knows where exactly to put the ball. I'm already moving on from Emmanuel Sanders, although I will always root for him, I know it's the nature of the business. I believe the blocking will improve but the biggest concern is the defense, like you said & I agree, especially the secondary!

Do ya'll think Cortez is ready to be the #1?

I don't know if he can be the #1 but he does deserve a shot, as far as Sanders is concerned I see him going to New England and having a Breakout season but I don't think he's a number 1 receiver. He will succeed with Brady but everyone looks good in that system and the money he will command I don't think he's worth it to us. We have AB, hopefully Cotch, Miller and now Wheaton finally gets his change, add the receiver out of the draft and our running game (that will be top five next season) and we're good...JUST PLEASE FIX THIS D, we can't waste another couple of seasons Troy deserves another ring!!!
