:patrice: I feel like they probably could've gotten him for less money......but I like his speed/size combo
I'm hoping he continues to progress as a player and builds on his season last year. It'll be nice to have some speed as FS again. I saw Tomlin/Colbert were at Darqueze Dennard's pro day at Michigan State today. I believe if he's still on the board we take him at 15 and draft a WR in the 2nd round

Yeah, I feel secondary is a MUST in the 1st round. They've avoided it for way too long. Hopefully either Gilbert/Dennard is still there, more likely Dennard than Gilbert. But I'd be fine with HaHa Clinton-Dix there as well.

I think they can draft BPA in the 2nd, based on their needs. Still need help at WR-LB-DT-DE.....losing the 3rd rd pick in that Shamarko Thomas trade is really gonna hurt

I agree with this as well. Either Nix or Dennard with the first rounder and I'm still a fan of Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews in the 2nd Round, he's the 2nd cousin of Jerry Rice for Pete's sake lol

We rcv a comp 3rd round so its not soo bad...

Mike Mitchell basically shores up our Safety spots (which was a glaring need). We got two young, up and coming guys (Shamarko and Mitchell) and two vets (Troy and Allen). Our secondary just improved- and his contract is pretty cap friendly. That basically scratches Ha Ha off of our boards.

I also don't think we HAVE to grab a CB in the first (probably somewhere btwn round 1-3). Ike will be there to mentor any rookie CB we pick up so he wont be expected to come in a crush buildings day one (which is a good thing). We will, however, need to probably draft 2 corners this year.

If we can sign a cheap ILB and CB, we can go into the draft with a true BPA strategy...:blessed:

And I hate Nix at 1.15...:manny:

Bad knee's, poor combine, only will be in during 60% of the plays? Doesn't seem like the value is there.

I thought McClendon did a suitable job

What do you guys think of Al Woods? GB has him in for a visit tomorrow...

Definitely a serviceable 3-4 guy who can play DE and a little NT.. Strong against the run- didn't particularly get after the QB or push the pocket back though. He would be battling for a starting role here, and many predicted he would get the nod at DE.

We certainly want him back, but we wont get into a bidding war for him

Well, we took Hampton at 19th in the 1st Round. Not saying Nix is the next Hampton, but there are some similarities. The 3-4 defense starts with the NT and their ability to shut down the run & take on multiple blockers to free up the LBs. I like McClendon, but I don't think he's our long-term answer as he wasn't a big factor in the run defense & didn't take on as many blockers. A NT that could take up multiple blockers not only will help our LBs, but I also think it'll let Heyward feast more as well. Also, Hampton didn't play pass downs for the most part either.

Although if we decide against Nix, I like the prospect of Daniel McCullers

Yeah I don't want a NT at 15 either. Without looking at who will be available I gotta believe we can draft that position later in the draft:yeshrug:
