It's not even that big tho like I said about as big as a Accord.

Why don't y'all like Acuras?

Personally, because Honda has dropped the ball big time with the brand while Lexus has evolved and Cadillac is staking its claim in the luxury world. You can't wanna be a luxury marque and not fill in specific segments

They don't need to have a million variants like BMW but Acura doesn't have a full size flagship or even a sports coupe. It's the same beefed up Accord in different lengths with SH-AWD thrown in here and there. The designs are flat and no one likes the "shield" up front with the logo.

These cats are Saab/Volvo status while Lexus is killing it with the new IS, RX remains a big seller, LS is going head up with the S Class/7 series, ES gets that mainstream sedan $$$, LFA is the halo car, the LX/GX are the trucks/SUVs and the new RC will be the sporty coupe that will battle the 4 series/A5

well reading thru all the replies, it seems like @Michael's Black Son came close to hit the nail on the head.

but anyone that knows me in the "showroom" has seen my past posts stating why I don't favor Honda/Acura.

preferably because of the FWD. I absolutely despise FWD cars. and I don't get why they don't offer the SH-AWD or RWD in more of their vehicles.

almost every other car brand have models that offer many different options as opposed to Honda. (multiple SUV's, Coupes, etc...) even a brand like Hyundai.

their styling is boring. although I will admit I liked when they first launched the TL SH-AWD in 2009. but since then every car they've released looks almost identical.

don't get me wrong, Honda makes a great car as far as reliability goes, which is why I would recommend a used Honda/Acura to people as starter cars, but buying a $50k+ RLX over equal or more qualified competitors (I won't even list) is absurd.

The FWD shyt is insane and you wonder if it's because they already have the honda platforms set up and are saving $$$ with platform sharing since Honda cars is the real bread and butter of the company.

Just makes you wonder what they've been doing the past 5-7 years over there. The previous gen Civic was a hit and then they ruined it. A ton of effort looks like it's going into making the Fit and variants for it. The new Accord is fukkin official, but what about the NSX, which has been a concept for like 10 fukking years it seems. Meanwhile, the LFA and GT-R have cemented themselves as two beasts that will go down in Japanese automotive history, when the NSX roamed around first (previous GT-Rs don't count in this instance)

The whole Acura lineup needs to be rebooted. The two previous gen RLs were the shyt but those days are over now. The best thing for them is to closely model the lexus lineup. MDX is aight but should be along the lines of the RX. The RDX needs to go if it isn't already on its way out. They need a full size SUV (like the LX and Infiniti Q) along with a sporty coupe

and what's funny about it is that they have a GOOD ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE system.

every time I drove the TL, or MDX, or RDX in the snow I was impressed cause anyone that knows me, knows I love AWD whips (Audi, Subaru)

I always said they should just dead the Acura brand as a whole and focus on extending their Honda fleet with more options and choices.
there's no Acura in other countries outside of North America, they have the styling and models. like the TSX for instance is a re-badged Accord. and everyone is fine with driving a semi-luxury car with a an "H" badge on it.

Do you playa. Don't worry about what everyone else say.

But I will tell you that I don't mess with acuras because they're all fwd (just not what I like in a luxury vehicle). I think the 2015 tlx is suppose to have the awd option though.
False.

It would be possible to rebuild the brand but not with the current lineup. the wack shyt is that they have two name plates from the present that have equity and name recognition (MDX, TL) and then they have names from the past that are "dead" but still strike a chord with fans of the brand (Legend, NSX). They can bring the Legend back but it cant be on a shytty product. It would have to be for a sporty coupe to compete with the A5, RC and 4 series. If not, then stick with the alpha numeric naming and keep the TL and MDX name but scrap the rest. The ILX is trash but works for them financially because its based off the Civic.

Hard to argue with some of the comments in here against Acura, which is tough for me to say since I'm partial to the brand because my dad has worked for them for so long. I think they've been dead since they killed off the RSX and fukked up the TL. The only vehicle that I'd cop over it's competitors is the MDX which consistently ranks top of the list in it's class and is aesthetically pleasing. Other than the MDX, all their vehicles are trash imo. It's hard to pinpoint what market they're trying to capture. I think they would do a decent job trying to compete with Infiniti but it seems like they've abandoned the entire young demographic. That's cool and all and tells the public that maybe you're trying to compete with Lexus instead. But got damn, Lexus is blowing them out the water on nearly all fronts. Do people even consider the RL a legit model (and soon to be RLX which will also be a complete dud)? I can count how many RL's I've seen in the past 8 years on one hand.

Most of their vehicles offer shyt stock power, unfavorable FWD, puke-inducing styling (TL), etc. Agree with the poster above, the brand needs a massive reboot. :manny:

The new TL is the TLX. The TL name is being scrapped.

when this version of the TL was out, EVERYONE wanted that shyt. that nameplate deserved much more
