Easy there homer. :mjlol:The Z06 Vette has never matched the Porsche GT cars, and its not meant to. A 991 GT3 would handily lap this Z06 on the track and the current GT2 would hand this car its ass both in a straight line and on the track. Vette's anwer to Porsche's GT cars has always been the ZR1 and this car does nothing to change that fact...:camby:
Stop it. The C6 Z06/Z07 ran a 7:22 at the Nurburgring which is quicker than any Porsche at that track save for the 997 GT2RS and 918 Spyder. So yes, the Z06 does match up with GT cars. The C5 Z06 and 996 GT3 were pretty comparable in performance. The C6 Z06 was a good match for the 997 GT3. This continues that trend. I'd actuallylook for this car to be more of a competitor for the 991 GT2.

The above is a perfect example of why you are a homer..:mjlol: To prove your point you are trying to compare a Z06 with the Z07 package to stock GT2 times. The Stock Z06 record on the Nurburgring is 7:42 compared to 7:32 for the 997 GT2. :camby: Just admit that you were wrong and move on.

Your screenname is perfectly accurate. I compared the C6 Z06/Z07 time with every Porsche production car ever made, not just the 997 GT2. The Z07 package was similar in spec to what comes on the GT cars as is Carbon Ceramic brakes, aero package and Michelin Sport Cups.

The '06 Z06 had been improved significantly since the '06 run. Don't see how that time is relevant anymore. That time was still on par with the 997 GT3 time of 7:42 set by a Porsche factory driver.

2015 Z06

- 8L90E 8-Speed Automatic available! Only 620+ hp car so equipped
- Steel torque tube replaced with woven c/f
- 60% more rigid chassis, with roof on, than C6 Z06
- 2.2" wider front track
- 3" wider rear track
- Wheel and tire sizes from C6 ZR1
- 3 levels, with varying degrees of aero downforce, with the Z07 version having more d/f than any production car GM's tested in their wind tunnel
- Compact 1.7L supercharger capable of 20,000 rpm and 9.5 psi of boost
- Pre-production versions set lap records @ Milford, beating ZR1 lap times
- 625hp/635lb-ft

In conclusion, 991 GT3 :camby:

Gonna need the GT2 to mess with this one. And an extra $200,000. What a sham. :heh:

I don't like the rear end design. It looks like altered Camaro taillights. I'd rather they keep them round.

Damn, that's nice!! I wonder what the price tag is going to be.......
Chief engineer said if you can afford the old Z06 you can afford the new one.

Only problem is that it won't be in production until late 2014/early 2015 and I won't be able to afford one then unless I win the lottery.

LOL the size of the brakes from the pic above is just absurd. Was looking through the pics all :whoo: till them joints hit :russ:

This things just an outright monster. Can't even begin to imagine what they'll do with the ZR1
