It's true...every project he's regressed as a lyricist for the sake of hits...he lost me with IYRTITL and now that I know he uses writers there's no point in hoping Views will be a return to Comeback/SFG/TML form because even if it is, it's a strong chance it won't be his words so :manny:
i would say drake was a better rapper on NWTS than take care

So basically youre not going to enjoy great music because there's a chance he didn't write every lyric on the album?

This is what he gets for coming in passing off every lyric like it was his, so in short form, yes.

Plus great varies from person to person. Great hip-hop = great lyrics over good to great beats. He's deliver that or something close to it once and then turned the corner for hitmaking. Which is fine but his angle has always been "I'm bigger AND better". Now he's just bigger.

honestly he's one of the best spitters these days. Most rappers today wouldn't sound as good as he did on 0 to 100 for example.

His voice matured so he probably became smoother to listen to after but I wouldn't say so. But it's also ironic that as you think he's gotten better each album, each album there's been more people around him.
i dont think he got better with each album. i would rank his rapping like this
NWTS>So far gone/comeback season > IYRTITL> TML. but he has used writers for most of his career

Well for me it's a downward slope since TML and it was one of those things we turned a blind eye to cause he was prolific and there was no receipts but now that there's reference tracks :francis:

But now that he's basically admitted it, Views would earn my ear IF someone could honestly tell me he took a leap in content.
