Watching commentary videos out of context of a 60+ hour RPG is really not doing yourself a favor. If you haven't played it from start to finish, then you can't really "get" what's dope about it but instead your on the outside looking in and all you see is random, context less "anime" looking people with textboxes.
I've seen plenty of people who don't "like" RPG's claim this to be really good.

Well what system you played it on?? How long?? 30 minutes?? An hour?? I'd say someone would need to have put in at least 10 hours to get a "feel" for the game and even then character arcs happen over the course of the game and that amount of time doesn't fully develop the story. As for pedo stuff, I honestly am not believing that someone could even come up with some sort of pedo crap to begin with.. There's hardly any children in the game let alone but 1 that you can actually form a social bond with and that person is your little cousin. In a nutshell, the game is a dungeon crawler+ life simulator+ RPG.
Combat has depth and the simulation aspects while simple, add a formulaic flow to the pacing of the game to keep things grounded. I can see why someone unfamiliar with the game would see it as "weird" or w/e if they just happen to catch a glimpse of it outside of actually playing it. I thought it was some dumb anime card game at first but lol wow it was way different.

Will be purchasing a PS4 for bloodborne alone.
Didn't like what little i played of Persona 4, and uncharted will need to really improve the core gameplay to get me excited.
The Persona series isn't for everyone. I used to LOVE JRPGs but tried Persona 3 and just couldn't get into it.

P3 and P4 are piff, especially if you're into story and character development. It's a niche game, but it's mad simple and accessible, but gets deep and dark at times. The battle system doesn't re-invent the wheel. The overall experience with the story and the people you meet just makes it a dope ass game. P4 is really just...charming...which sounds like a
way to describe a game, but that's really the only word I can think of to describe the impression it leaves on you after completing it.
Persona 4 Golden is the only game of the series I've played, and I'm not really into anime or even JRPGs like that.
But I must say, it's an incredibly fun and deep game. Most of the time you play a game, you're left yearning for things the developers left out, skipped over, and just cut corners on. Persona4G is very well thought out, and an extremely polished game. Everything about it is done well.
The Persona series is the embodiment of the cliched "don't judge a book by its cover" proverb. P4G is dope, and anybody skipping out on it cause it looks "childish" or "too anime" is doing themselves a disservice.
