Not really a terrible trade for Atlanta since we have to choose between Carroll and Millsap or center of our FA choice who wants to come to Atlanta. With that said, I don't understand it for LA unless they want to try to win in Kobe's last season and feel they can add a player in 2016. I don't think they have the cap once they sign Millsap.
Ya I didn't realize Millsap would have to take a slight pay cut in order to resign (with Carroll) I'm sure someone will offer him the max.
If I was the Hawks Id look into getting Danny Green. He could be had for a little cheaper than Carroll but is a better player and a year younger to boot.
Also Monroe isn't the player Millsap is, especially defensively but hes 4 years younger. If they can make that deal with the Pistons, I'd go for it.

Uncertain grounds
Tell that to the nikka I quoted :sas2:

But forreal, I can respect that. I wanna see this squad give it another run because we caught some really bad breaks -literally- near the end of the year and were the best team in the league when we were on our shyt.

At the same time though, I would be upset if we did not look at all upgrades possible going into next season. Carroll and Millsap are both FAs who could get contracts for more than they're worth. This team might get "blown up" for us. We need to be shrewd in how we go about this offseason. If the best move is to stay the course then cool. But that should be proven, not assumed.

I didnt think the trade idea was terrible logic at all. If the Lakers werent feeling themselves so much about free agent prospects and their cap it probably wouldnt be a bad deal. Personally, Im not huge on Teague or Millsap or a Millsap/Randle combo....but the logic is sound depending on the Lakers draft big board :yeshrug:

Horford and Teague for 2 though? Hawks what do you say? :sas1:

Horford expires next year (12m) and Teague the year after (8m). Lakers would still have good change available after if they decline Hill

Danny Green is a decent 3D SG, we need more talented than that. Korver is an elite specialist and his impact for us is far greater than Danny for us. Easy pass for us.
We don't have to make a deal for Monroe as unlike last year, Monroe is not a RFA. We did last year and they countered, they wanted Teague and Korver and we passed.

I couldn't trade Horford. It may be better for the team long-term, but he's been here too long. Only way I'd consider it is if Randle was in the deal as well.

You know we won't even trade Horford for the 2n pick alone. That's a big trade difference, one we don't care to make.

I don't see a scenario where the Lakers trade the #2 pick in this draft under any circumstances. If you gamble on that Hawks scenario and it backfires (likely will) you literally set the franchise back 5 years.

Every single gm in the league would hive up horford for the 2nd pick

That would be a woat trade for the lakers

Horfords contract is up in a year right? He'll make 3 times as much money as towns/okafor

I can't agree with you on that one my breh...Horford has a history of injuries and he's almost near 30 it depends where the team is at in relation to the other talent on it.

Thats my point

If you tell a gm, you can have horford or you can have the 2nd pick, everyone will choose the second pick.

Many don't understand all the things Horford do and how he covers for many of our flaws. He's one of the best players in the NBA. Severely underrated.
