Jameis wasBlake Bortles also ran a 4.93 and he's more mobile than Teddy. So I dont totally disagree.
The issue isnt what Jameis ran. Its that Jameis ran that slow time because he's not in the best of shape. That GIF further proves my point about him being better than what he ran. That was the first game of the season by the way..
He's still got 21% body fat. (Thats after losing 23 pounds) His footwork last year wasnt as good as the year before and that attributed to some ints.
As long as he stays in shape...he'll be great. Its very difficult to be *great* if you're not in at least good shape.
He's got everything else breh
during that game physically. Jameis has game speed, you can't define that by the 40.

watched those throwing drills which test how well he tracks the the ball and

..I am more keen on them going after Jalen Strong if he an be had in the 3rd round...I see a lot of upside on that cat...good hands..fast enough and big

def throws the ball with zip...problem is that baylor offense is all one read..no progressions...but if he isnt a dumb ass maybe he can take a year off to adjust

Exactly. Jameis was never fast he is quick not fast. Two of the greatest players of all time were slow when timed but had unbelievable game speed. That was emmit Smith and Jerry Rice. Those dudes ran 4.6 yet in a game those jokers could out run Darrel green and deion sanders.
Jameis has game speed plan and simple. He is not a great runner and is very awkward when running. I do not want him to run and I do not want him to be faster. That will only be a reason that his team dumps their wide outs or not give him weapons. To want him to run a faster time is to not understand the NFL and how it has always treated black QBs.
Folks are fukking forgetting that Warren Moon admitted that he slowed down in his 40 to run a slower time because if he ran too fast he would have been switched to WR. This a league where Geno Smith was never a running in college and the first thing the jets talk about is running read option with him in the pros. This is the same league in which Teddy Bridgewater's second game his OC is calling read option plays with him yet the young man is 213 pounds and there were concerns about his size. This the same league that when Randell Cunningham would study plays and game film with his QB coach and OC buddy Ryan would storm in and tell the OC,hem to stop all he needed Cunningham was to run around and make 3 plays a game for his team to win.
So yeah I get pissed about folks worrying about a got damn pocket passing 6-3 black QB 40 time. And especially when that dude coming off a ankle injury and it has never ever been a concern when the pocket passer was white.
