He's probably got the most talent left for what's out there as a wing. He's a rock head and over confident.

Maybe y'all can get the best out of him. Especially on a one year deal.

Maybe. He did say he wanna come here....fukk it...why not...smh

Former Wolverine Mitch McGary suspended 5 games by NBA for failed drug test

ANN ARBOR -- Former Michigan forward Mitch McGary's NBA career took another wrong turn on Friday.

This time it did so in familiar territory.

McGary, who was suspended for his entire junior season at U-M by the NCAA due to a 2014 failed drug test, has been suspended for five games by NBA for another failed drug test.

A member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have already had a tumultuous offseason, McGary will serve the suspension to open the 2016-17 season.

The damage could exceed beyond those five games, though.

Drafted No. 21 overall in the 2014 NBA draft, McGary's professional career has largely disappointed. A mix of injuries limited him to 32 games as a rookie and 20 games in 2015-16. Additionally, this past season, the 24-year-old missed the final weeks of the regular season due to a "personal matter," one which was never disclosed.

In 52 professional games played, McGary has averaged 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 10.7 minutes per game. Last year he posted 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.6 minutes.

Friday's suspension does not come at an ideal time, as McGary is entering the final year of a three-year, $4.4 million contract.

According to The Oklahoman, McGary issed a statement Friday, saying: "I clearly made a mistake and for that I apologize to the organization, my teammates, and our fans. I realize there are only so many opportunities given to you and I need to make sure that as a person and as a player, I take accountability and ensure that this does not happen again."

The last suspension didn't come ideally, either.

During the Michigan's run to the 2014 Elite Eight, McGary was selected for an NCAA-administered drug test during the NCAA tournament. He tested positive for marijuana, resulting in a one-year suspension from competition from the NCAA.

At the time, McGary was still pondering a return to U-M for his junior season. The suspension essentially made his mind up for him.

In 47 career games at Michigan, McGary averaged 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

During his time with the Thunder, McGary has shown flashes of being a potentially valuable cog. His combination of size, skill and all-out play have always attached value to his intrigue.

Most recently, he joined teammate Semaj Christon as Oklahoma City's leading scorer in the Orlando Summer League with 15.0 points per game over three contests. He added 4.7 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game and drew praise as finally looking healthy and NBA-ready.

Warriors took the league by storm as a small ball team and now they don't even have the personnel to be a small ball team...

Gutted the team for what is right now a one year rental of a top 5 player...

I was all up in the video talking about KD to the Spurs but now I am SSSSSSOOOOOO glad the spurs didn't do this...

Maybe if he signed a 4 year deal and it is just understood that year one is going to be a little rough because of roster construction and because you got to learn to play together...

But half your team for a 1 and 1 deal? No fukking way...
They have the best small ball lineup ever assembled lmao

What you talking bout?
