i was disappointed yall didnt trade up for Apple or draft Vonn Bell :UmadOH:, but yall good again after this :buckeyesalute:, just dont cut him later :Umadatus:

I know a lot of national guys were predicting Apple/Bell for us but I never really got the feeling that they would be the pick. I think at this point Washington is just a camp body. Right now he's behind

Yeah i feel you. Washington more than likely wont make the team, i do hope my boy Grant make some strides for yall this year though.

I was surprised we didn't go after Bell too until I read up more about how Sean Davis was futilely playing corner the last 2 years and is a bigger frame than Bell



As for corners, all Steeler fans seemed initially perplexed by Burns and PFF came out with their rankings which made Burns look like even more of a reach

However, there is one area that Burns flips the script in, and its the exact area that Mike Tomlin has been trying to take the secondary in the last year since LeBeau left

Thats what Colbert said in his press conference after the first round, that Burns was the best bump and run corner in the draft and with the way the NFL is set up now the best way to throw a receiver off their game is by getting them early in that bump and run. Throughout the game that could tire them out

Tall corner that can play bump and run. Sounds like :ikegrin:I like it. Plus getting Golson back will be good. Hopefully he's as much of a ballhawk in the pros as he was in college.

Mike Tomlin didn't have a choice. The player he wanted was selected one spot before.


Of course he's saying now he wanted Burns.....he can't say otherwise.

Yup. I wanted WJ3 but Burns is young and will be able to focus fully on football for the first time. He'll get better coaching than he had at Miami. If he turns out to be another Ike Taylor then thats a win for us. Everybody passed on Billings numerous times. You want to be giddy about getting him in the 4th then We got Hargrave in the 3rd who will play nose but can also spell Tuitt and Heyward in the nickel. No losses on this end
