Rodriguez deserved so much better. Trotting him out injured all 2012 playoffs in hopes he would get hurt worse, helping baseball give a 200+ game ban with no failed test, constantly taking shots at him in the press, talking about how he needs to earn a roster spot last year, refusing to pay his home run bonus, forcing him to the bench for worse players, forcing him off the team and pretty much cutting him from the team. This organization didn't appreciate him from the beginning. Not even sure where to start on the press up here. I hope someone offers him a deal so he can at least get 700. Not sure there's a crew on a team I like less than Lerner, cashman, and Hal Steinbrenner when I think about how they treated a player of this caliber.

just let him end it this way.

I'd rather it end like this instead of him going to the Mets or some bum ass team struggling to hit 4 HR's

It wouldn't really mean much, honestly.

Just because 700 is a nice round number, getting there wouldn't change anyone's opinion of Alex (good or bad)

First Torre treated Alex like shyt to protect his surrogate son Jeter's fragile ego, then Trashman basically threw this guy under the bus for 10 years.

Look, A-rod did a lot of dumb shyt. A lot of shyt that infuriated me. But the organization never held him down like San Fran did for Bonds or Boston for Roidtiz.

:mjcry: A-rod became my favorite Yankee over time up there with Mo/Jeter/El Duque. Just got back from the bar when he drove in that run:blessed:. When people talk about all time Yankee lineups you have to say A-rod is at third base no argument.

Love the send off the fans gave him but lets be honest a lot of these fans there tonight didnt truly fukk with him. But I got to give it up to the coli Yankee fans since the site started I cant think of a Yankee fan on here who didnt fukk with him. Props to you guys for reconizing greatness.

He didn't.

But that doesn't matter.
He was far, far better than Jeter ever was.

With time, people's perspective should shift to the appropriate discussion: and that is that it's pointless to compare ARod and Jeter. The true comparison is between ARod, Bonds, Griffey and Pujols. Because those were the truly great players of the last 20 years. Everyone else is small potatoes by comparison (speaking of position players, that is)

You have to take the peds to account. Derek won 4 rings and had so many clutch moments.
