Hood was a free agent they weren't bringing back. Crowder got a couple more years on his contract. They had prior interest in him. And maybe Snyder can get him to be productive again

Not much to add to that. Marc got the coach fired. Marc is running the offense he wants. He has the entire organization by the nuts, while at the same time, passive-aggressively wants to be traded.
