The NFL needs to revert the playoff format back to 6 teams per conference. Both tampa and KC have essential bye weeks and theyre 13 and 9 point favorites against vastly inferior teams. This is pointless

I don't think it was ever about the playoffs

Squeezing the 7th team in created fckery in both conferences on the last day of the season

That Raiders vs Chargers game will be talked about for a long time

And the Niners vs Rams game was also a great game that had playoff implications on getting in (Niners) and seeding (Rams)

I think eventually, NFL will have an 18 game schedule and 8 playoff teams with no bye

I was listening to a couple of podcasts yesterday and it’s amazing how the so-called analysts and experts have done a complete flip on hiring strategy this year. They are all now shytting on about how valuable second-time coaches are far better bets than the next big thing OC / DC. Also that coaches with a system, and who have experienced working within one system are not good - they should have flexibility & knowledge of a variety of positions & schemes.

THAT IS THE EXACT fukkING OPPOSITE OF YOUR BULLshyt FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS!!!

I wish they’d all admit that, on the most part, they’re all know-nothing spoofers, and would just stfu.

18 games and eight playoff teams is almost a certainty (just depends on if it comes along with general expansion too, since supposedly that's on the table too). But I think the make good with the NFLPA for adding the extra game would be giving the two seed a bye again.

Not sure I understand. You just need to have an even number of teams playing after byes. If you give the top two seeds in each conference a bye, you still have six teams per conference, making for six games on wildcard weekend. The idea of adding one wild card team and eliminating a bye was just the compromise of getting to an extra two playoff games without saying that half the league makes the playoffs now.
