Not sure I understand. You just need to have an even number of teams playing after byes. If you give the top two seeds in each conference a bye, you still have six teams per conference, making for six games on wildcard weekend. The idea of adding one wild card team and eliminating a bye was just the compromise of getting to an extra two playoff games without saying that half the league makes the playoffs now.

Think about it like this

8 teams, 2 byes...3 wild card games...3 winners of wild card games + 2 bye teams = 5 teams in second round

Only way it works is with a double bye for a team which is an unfair competitive advantage and won't happen

Unless I'm mistaken, Cousins still has a fukkton of guaranteed money next year, and I don't see much of a trade market for him even if they were good with eating the dead money that would come along with a trade, they're stuck with him for another year.

18 games and eight playoff teams is almost a certainty (just depends on if it comes along with general expansion too, since supposedly that's on the table too). But I think the make good with the NFLPA for adding the extra game would be giving the two seed a bye again.
Or a second regular season bye too

So 2023 for a decision then.

What do you think about the HEAVY (Goliath like) favorites in the Bills for this Saturday?

They're four point favorites so they're not like Goliath.

I think both teams have a decent shot. It depends on which Josh Allen shows up. If it's the erratic Allen, then New England will win because they'll create negative plays. But if Allen is on point in terms of his accuracy and not taking sacks, then I think the Bills will win convincingly.

The pressure is all on Buffalo though because this is far from where they hope to get to the season. On the other hand, New England is playing with house money.

I'd say the Bills are gigantic favorites.:lolbron:.

MVP caliber QB versus the 5th QB taken in the 2021 NFL draft. Doesn't get much more lopsided than that at home.:wow:.
