2016 MLB Draft
The Mets took RHP Justin Dunn 1st round, 19th overall.
They took LHP Anthony Kay 1st round, 31st overall.
They took Pete Alonso 2nd round, 64th overall.
MLB draft isn't like NFL. There are often lots of great players taken in the later rounds. But man, Alonso really saved that draft for the Mets. What a gem.
FYI - Justin Dunn wound up being part of a trade that got the Mets Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz. Well, at least Diaz wound up being valuable. Maybe if Jarred Kelenic winds up a superstar, the Mets might regret giving him up. But it was a good trade anyway.
Anthony Kay was drafted by the Mets twice. He was taken in the 29th round in 2013 but decided to go to college. Then the Mets took him again in the 1st round in 2016. He sucked and is now a 27 year old reliever at AAA with the Blue Jays. The Mets packaged him in a trade that brought them Marcus Stroman in 2019.

Brewers are not playing well they have like 3 starting g pitchers on the DL and that's their strength and besides Adames really their line up is meh.
