A working solution would be to not put up establishment retreads for office. VA had a Black woman as a viable candidate in the Dem primary for governor, and had a Black man run for attorney general. Terry was a bad candidate, and so was Ayala. Neither presented much personality. Hell, just some younger folks would be a great start

I said this in another thread, NY has legitimately passed CRT and black studies in our K-12 curriculum and we just elected a black mayor (Adams) a black Manhattan ADA (the most powerful legal position) with Alvin Drugg, and a black public advocate (Jumainne Williams) with historic margins.

We also passed free statewide tuition for CUNY & SUNY for families making under 125k (Exclusier scholarship) and that helped democrats win in more moderate to conservative parts in upstate NY.

Hell even New Jersey (which is more conservative than NY) passed a state wide CRT & black studies curriculum last year and everything is fine.
