Calvin Johnson isn't a lock for the Hall at all at this point.
760+ catches, 11,600+ yards, 80+ touchdowns in 9 years while playing for the damn lions. Buddy even went and set the record for most receiving yards in a season. No good argument as to why he doesn't belong. Imagine if he had better than Jon kitna and Dan orlovsky and Matt Stafford throwing him the ball.

His stats are better then harrison , Bruce , ****?

This is just the start of why Harrison might not be first ballot. Receivers just have a hell of a time getting in right away.

how can you say that without seeing who else will be on the list:francis:

It doesn't matter. If Tim Brown, Andre Reed weren't 1st ballot HOFs what makes you think calvin is?

If you think calvin is better than those 2 you're bugging.

Torry ****, Issace Bruce are not 1st ballot and they still might be there in 2021. You never know

Because his stats are more impressive given his playing time and who he played with. If he doesn't get in first ballot, he definitely won't take as long as Bruce and **** did.

His stats are impressive, but he played in a pass friendly era which inflated his numbers. I mean his QB put up better seasons than joe montana, elway, etc.. Take it as a grain of salt.

Tim Brown put up numbers playing with that trash QB carousel the raiders had.

I think calvin is a HOF but not 1st ballot to me.

But that gets negated by the fact that he was constantly doubled and even triple-teamed.

If you have several seasons where you are arguably the BEST player at your position, then you have a great chance of getting into the Hall. As in, if you were to re-draft every team, who would be the first WR taken? Many of the receivers named in this post weren't at that level. They would be the 3 or 4th guy taken, still Pro Bowl level, but not the no.1 talent at that position.
Stop just looking at numbers. Certain accolades, like "First Team All Pro" mean more than others imo.

Not saying he doesn't deserve it. But if he gets in then guys like Moss and TO have to be first ballot too then.

Calvin was the best receiver in football for a good five years. Thas enough to get him in. His longevity will only factor into his wait.
