The Real Titletown
Patrick Chung retires.

Damn.

He was an excellent player and a key part in the last three Super Bowl wins. A real tough player and a locker-room leader. When I think of the Patriots defense over the past ten years or so, it's three players that come to mind:

Hightower
D. McCourty
Chung

I wonder if they sign Smith-Schuster if they then try to make a big player for Watson or Wilson.

I think Watson is off the table with all the sh1t he’s going through now

Russ doesn’t really fit the Jets timeline.. there not gonna contend right away

Most likely there drafting Zach Wilson

My Pops Forever RIP
I doubt that. I think they just see that the WR market is soft so they might be able to get a player much cheaper then they thought
If he was all in on drafting Wilson (or any QB for that matter), then Darnold woulda been outta here by now. At best, it's awkward to potentially sign Darnold's best offensive weapon for someone else while he's still there. That's like rawdogging your friend's crush while he watches. At worst, he went from making promises to Darnold's parents to making sure he's in the rebooted XFL

Clearly he's proven to not have any pulse on the worth of wide receivers.

Imo the only reason Darnold is still here is because he misread the market for him

Darnold isn’t Douglas’ guy and he’s shown no signs that he likes him

Last offseason in a critical year for Darnold not only did he not get him help he let his one good WR get away for not a lot of money

Id be shocked if Darnold is the Jets starter next year

Hope is a powerful thing.:lolbron:.

I make no guarantees, but I strongly believe you're going to see this Patriots team come out with a vengeance this year. They got some help for their run defense, have Hightower and Chung coming back, have their 2020 rookies with a real off-season, brought Van Noy back, and will hopefully have both Gilmore and Jackson healthy and ready to go this year.

That's just the defense this year. The offensive-line just improved and will be excellent if they are healthy. Probably the best in the NFL if they can remain healthy. Have to very good HB's in Michel and Harris. People can knock Michel all they want, but he's been very good when healthy. Added the top two free-agent TE's, two WR's, and still have draft capital.

I would guess they roll with Cam this year, but nothing would surprise me. I don't see what they could possibly offer Houston that the Texans would take over a package Miami or the Jets could offer. I think Casserio likes Harry and Dugger, so the only package I could imagine would be the following:

2021 1st
2022 1st
2023 1st
Harry
Dugger (I like him a LOT)

Maybe something else? No idea.
Ching coming back? Lol nope
