There will be a lot of very unhappy and frustrated people in here this year. The Patriots were probably the team most impacted due to Covid. Player optouts, going from Brady to Cam, and a shortened off-season. Also had the Covid issue during the season.
IF the QB play can even be above average this year, I like this teams potential a lot, but they QB play NEEDS to be there or all of this is moot.
And, I know you can somewhat do this for every team, but let's look at some of their games last year, with a much less talented roster during a Covid season.
-Seahawks game came down to the final play on the goal-line. This is when Wilson was cooking and was a leading MVP candidate.
-Played the Chiefs very tough, with a major horrific call that cost the Patriots a likely TD, and one of the worst QB performances I have every witnessed from Brian Hoyer. Was very close until the 4th quarter.
-Broncos and 49er's games were horrific, but that's also when the team had Covid issues. Probably would have still lost both games.
-Lost to the Bills by three points on the final drive. Doesn't mean they were going to win as I think too many people think the Patriots were guaranteed seven points on that drive, but they likely tie it up at a minimum. I think they would have scored seven without the fumble, but they didn't.
-Beat the Ravens, albeit the weather was awful.
Again, I don't like making predictions about the Patriots record, but I will say that I would be surprised if they win less than 11 games this year.

I don't disagree with your first part, as I've said this for years. A lot of "Patriots" fans are JUST Brady fans. They have to bash Bill to prop up Brady, when that's not needed.
