Goat secondary :wow:

We talking about one season or over numerous? It may be the Seahawks for both as I can't think of many other secondaries that are close off the top of my head.

Early 2000's Ravens? I'm not going back and including any secondaries before the 80's.

Then again, maybe it was the secondary that made the Colts cry to the league and change the rules?:lolbron:.

Going off that last statement, as "soft" as the NFL has become, I think a lot of the rule changes ended up creating a better quality game for today's fans. People will say they love tough defensive battles, but most are full of shyt and don't want to see that every week.

We talking the run they had not one single season. Besides the seven point thing. They had the #1 scoring defense from 2012 to 2015. That's intense. We've seen dominant defenses but it's usually a 1 year thing.

Unprecedented. Best sscondary ever and a top 5 defense, ever. Secondary wise off the top of my head.
1. LOB
2. 83 Raiders
3. 94 49ers
4. 03 Pats
5. 2015 Bronocs
Thats off top. But the LOB was for 4 seasons, not just one peak season.

Did that defense let them down in the biggest moments though?:sas2:.

2012: Gave up 30 points to the Falcons in the divisional round and put the team in a 20-0 hole.

2013: Absolute destruction of the Broncos and pretty much every team they faced that season. They sealed the deal and left their mark on that season. Unbelievable.

2014: Let the Patriots comeback from double digits in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. I'm sure I'll hear about no Lane and a dinged up Sherman.

2015: Let up 31 points to the Panthers in the divisional round.

I'm not saying they weren't elite. I'm just nitpicking here.:lolbron:.

The 03 Pats got lit up by Jake Delhomme. Not fait to compare becauss youre discussing different years with the LOB and only the title seasons with the other teams.

I was just talking about the Seahawks defense and that four year stretch. I wasn't trying to mention any other teams if that's how your understanding it. I was just saying that during the Seahawks dominant defensive run, that it looks like they gave up 28+ points in three of their playoff losses.

Not saying they were not all-time great. Just stirring the pot.:mjlit:.

I feel you. But im sure you can do that for any great defense. 2000 Ravens got lit up by the Jaga, 2002 Bucs couldnt beat the Saints, LT and the NYG got lit up by the LA Rams in 88. Etc...Great teams have bad performances as do great players..thats the name of the game.

Absolutely no doubt about it. I was nitpicking as I stated, but without looking back at some of those other great defenses, I'm guessing there are playoff games they lost while giving up twenty points or less. Those Seahawks playoff losses were all from that four year stretch, and you can't say the offense let them down in those games when they gave up 28+ in all three losses. I guess that's where I was going with that.

Again, not knocking that defense at all as they had a dominant Super Bowl season. Just throwing some thoughts out there.

I.hear you. If we compare 4 year stretches, it would be fair..but we're not. If we wanna be fair lets compare their best single seasons against each other. 49ers allowed 28 to Dallas in 1994 although they still won by 10.

2012 was a sign of things to come. It all clicked in 2013.

2014: Doesn't matter if they hand the ball to Marshawn Lynch at the 1. Key injuries were suffered by their defense as well. But I'll allow it.

2015: :hubie:
