That if we don't watch it, we're gonna lose all that we have gained because they're no social commentary on any records. That it needs to be a balance.

He was referring to the South but it really goes for the entire game now. Out of all these female rappers, who really breaks the "ratchet" mold? Same way nearly all the male rappers are in the "smokin opps" mold.

Think about it. All these killings, but when's the last time you heard a real RIP song like this

The funny thing is social commentary music is more accessible than ever before. These lil niccas don't have to bootleg shyt, if they want consciousness they can go listen on YT music,Spotify, apple music, etc. Degeneracy has always been more popular and will continue to be :manny:

because talent has never been the make or break for chart success

Think back to that viral clip that circulated of Rick Ross Lenny s and a bunch of other industry people make 2 girls have a sing off. One is God awful but dressed "sexier" the other is attractive but fully covered dressed like a regular person and sang well.

The clowns bare faced said "I'd say she did the better job and we need to keep her" to the "sexy" one who sang like she swallowed sand and her car keys :dead:

It would have been a layup to have a segment of Rap with R&B hooks or R&B with rap features.

You see Ja had the the best crowd reaction to jos performance when he did "Put It On Me." Lil Mo singing her parts is a moment we needed.

I’m pretty sure every new artist performed multiple songs

Hopefully that won’t be the case anymore, because what you’re technically saying is that degeneracy and negativity is now are way of life and that will always continue. But it’s ironic, cause at the end of the day this is all funded by white people

Accessible and promoted are two different things. We're in a information overload era and it's to the point that people are controlled largely by what the algorithm puts in front of them.

There are no new "superstars' and all the so-called "stars" (besides Lil Baby and Toosi) only rap about doing drugs or smokin opps. Literally all the young female rappers are "ratchet."

Nobody has filled the voids.

A better take might be that the new artists really didn't do any "hits" besides Lotto.

Just like at actual parties, older songs get a better crowd reaction than the brand new songs.

A majority of the show was performances crammed into 4 hours and yet still people complained, you just can't win with some people:manny:

From what I saw, the show was good. No host helped but it's pretty glaring that some of the newer stars didn't show. The men specifically. Was Lil Baby there? Metro Boomin? 6LACK, Brent Faiyaz, Blxst, anybody from Dreamville? Hell was Gunna there? Scheduling, touring, yada yada, make time for the BET awards show breh. Make an appearance, stick around for an hour and dip.
