But it didn’t matter when Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois last year? The committee said H2H would be one of the most important things they look at. It shouldn’t matter who Miami lost to if they have the same record and beat ND. Why is Texas ranked ahead of Vanderbilt?
You’re mixing together things the committee does use with things it doesn’t treat equally in every situation. H2H isn’t a magic trump card. It only matters when the teams are actually close. If one résumé is clearly better, the committee doesn’t throw that out just because of one game. It’s really that simple

I'm just trying my best to make sure I understand the playoff process...

Alright so head to head results can not be used to judge teams. Meaning if you beat your rival, yet they would be favored against you on a neutral field, that hypothetical game has to be taken into consideration and weighted at a greater level than the actual result.

If you lose your QB you will be left out of the playoff, however if you lose an entire coaching staff, you're safe and will not be penaltize.

If you don't play a team you're competing for a playoff spot with, but you share a common opponent against them, the team with the poorest result against said common opponent shall be ranked higher.

Did I miss anything :lupe:

Unless that game is earlier in the season, or out of conference, then it is irrelevant, unless you win, then it is a great quality win.

shyt is nasty

They moved Bama up to be able to keep them in at 10 even if they lose to UGA. I'd respect it more if they just admitted that instead of some shyt about barely beating Auburn being impressive.

Week one and a lot of folks in here was crowning they ass for that one win. Then, The rest of the season happened. Just like ND lost weeks 1 & 2 and have ran off 10 straight and it hasn’t been a doubt that they were the best team in the field when they played. And I’m saying that about A&M too. A botched hold on XP. Better SoR. Even BYU has a better SoR and one loss so shouldn’t they be ahead of the U too?

You forgot all this bullshyt only applies to some teams and we use them to keep our protected teams in, which means they dont apply to them at all..

Aye fukk head to head. Idgaf if miami beat nd earlier in the year. I compare their losses and current product on the field. Therefore, nd gets the nod. Not that fukking hard to dissect.
