The Bengals situation is a little trickier considering they at least had the one Super Bowl run, but I look at it like the Cowboys. If you already ain't winning with all them on cheap ass contracts, how do they expect to start winning having all them on huge contracts taking up damn near all the cap. As great as Chase is ain't no way I can pay him no 40 million a year. I'd have put one of him or Tee on the market to see what offers they'd field and use it to build depth like the Chiefs did.
Yeah 2021 was their year and they probably blew it.

My thing is if burrow is who you think he is, he shouldn’t need all this skill position talent. Keep Chase and trade Tee/Giseki.

They really could’ve flipped Chase for a bevy of picks and draft 5 rookie WR to try to replace the 1 :heh:

Puka Nacua was like a 4th rounder wasn’t he? Talent can be had in later rounds with a good scouting team.

:mjlol:

Ima localize this joke for some of yall:

Saginaw native excited to return to hometown of Detroit

San Mateo native excited to return to hometown of Los Angeles

Savanna excited to return to hometown of Atlanta

I don't know if it's a satirical post or not :mjlol:

"I remember taking that short, 143-mile drive"

"Will only be 2.5-hour trip down the block"

Edit, yea it was satire of course

Burrow needs the skill position talent though. All the QBs do to actually win the Super Bowl.

No QB in the modern era has won a Super Bowl with bullshyt to throw to......and before some of y'all bring up Pat he had still prime Kelce as his primary threat with actual competent WRs to throw to when they beat the 49ers.....and Brady had Gronk and Edelman, personally I think both of them should be in the hall.

What’s the “modern” era?

Also Do you need your 2nd best pass catcher to make more than most number 1 Wrs and your third best pass catcher to make 12 million a year?

If they aren’t far and away the best offense next year, like Historically great someone in this group is overrated

I hear you Ed and I get your point. But that ain't that crazy. My Flint and Saginaw people was still big Pistons and Detroit sports fans. It ain't the hometown, but it's still the hometown team. Draymond had said several times if the warriors were gonna trade him, at least send him to the "crib" so he could play for the Pistons. I imagine it's similar for Cooper:yeshrug:

So fellow Bill's fans. How do you feel about Beane giving Hoecht and Ogunjobi those deals after knowing they are gonna miss 6 games?
I think he should have told larry he had to back out of the deal and used that money elsewhere. I dont know much about Hoecht but the 3 years vs 1 I guess it makes a little more sense still weird though.

Maybe that's why we signed Bosa though then they should be coming back by time he gets hurt:lolbron:

The Chiefs had Juju and MVS as their WRs for the Super Bowl win in 2023. They wouldn't even be WR3 for a lot of teams. If that's the bar for competent WRs then that's about every team in the league at that point.

Prime Kelce counts as a WR too in this case. He wasn't out there cooking, but he was the primary pass threat and decoy for the defense to miss Juju and MVS who he had pretty good rapport with by that point in the season and were outperforming the norm. He wasn't throwing to bullshyt that year. Y'all lost the Super Bowl in the way you did this past year because T Swift Kelce showed up to start the season and you had Hopkins learning an offense on the fly. The Eagles defense wasn't worried about y'all.

Since 2000 aka Greatest Show on Turf peak year is the modern era.

I don't think about it in terms of money for the 2nd pass catcher, but if we're assigning grades the #1 pass catcher needs to be an A pass catching threat at worst and it has to be a WR or TE and #2 needs to be a B pass catching threat at worse whether it's a WR or RB or TE and this is only if we're talking about winning the Super Bowl.

That's just where football is right now where there aren't any players, especially QBs, who can win it on their own without legitimate pass threats. The defenses have caught up to the rules and the NFL can't create any more offense advantages in the rulebook without breaking football plus NFL OC's have low key forgotten how to innovate.
