Why are defensive tackles suddenly getting paid so much in free agency? Are Milton Williams (4yrs/$104M) and Javon Kinlaw ($3yrs/$45M) worth that kind of money? Aren’t there always talented DTs in the draft?

at least milton williams is a very good player and while maybe slighly overpaid thats FA for you.


theres no explanation for that kinlaw contract. guy is a bust and I liked him out of the draft. but he just hasnt developed. plays with pad level high, gets moved off his blocks in run game (something hes supposed to be good at) and when it comes to pass rush he never developed anything besides bull rush. he bullied guys in college off size and strength, cant do it in the NFL

only explanation I can think of is that Adam Peters who was the Niners president of operations back then and is now skins GM really loves Kinlaw
